This story is everywhere and I could honestly care less. My lord I don't see why people care about this at all.
Because of the racial aspect and the racial tensions that rocked the city of Durham for a long, long time. This is pretty much the last straw.Not to mention that it is an elite university like Duke, who has a crystal clear image in the media. If it were any other school, I don't think we'd be hearing as much about it.

I honestly havent paid enough attention to the story to form an opinion on it. i would like to think that they didnt do anything, but if they did, they should pay the price.

Race has nothing to do with it?Duke University is predominantly white university, while the city of Durham is the exact opposite.All but one of the players on the Lacrosse team are white.The lacrosse players specifically asked for the company to send black hookers to their party. The company they hired the hookers from said that they normally send white hookers unless their is a special request made.Two black women walking in front of the house while the party was going on called police saying that a bunch of white students came out of the house and screamed racial slurs towards them.The alleged victim attends North Carolina Central University (or something like that), which is also in Durham and is a predominantely black school. The two schools have had rivalries forever.And there are so much more...

There has always been racial tension in Durham, and this case only magnified the issue.
The only racial tension I saw was when they had the DA on ESPN getting questions from citizens and all they did (the black people) was yell and accuse him for racial things and it was ridiculous. Yes their is a lot of racism in North Carolina but this is all I have seen. And then you bring that dips*it Jesse Jackson down there it only makes things worse because everything to them is discrimination and injustice and i'm sick of it.
Duke prides itself on good sports and class. Coach K is one of the greatest coaches of all-time in any colleigate sport and the athletes he produces are usually good guys along with being good basketball players. I know that's different from lacrosse but Duke lacrosse has a pretty damn good program as well. It's gotta be tough for that university right now.
I think this story is getting plently of publicity. The Duke lax players were dumb enough to put themselfs in a position where an "exotic dancer" lol was being raped and are even dumber to not admit to doing it or to who did it.
It's stupid though. They proved that she wasn't raped or whatever and now there season is over. Some players weren't even there and they get screwed over too.
They didn't prove that she wasn't raped. All the prosecuting attorneys have said is that the DNA testing "failed to connect" their clients to the rape.More than half of the rape cases in the country that go to court do not have any DNA evidence linking the person accused of rape to the victim. It all comes down to a he-said she-said thing, and right now it is a toss-up. Not to mention that the D.A. is going to be running for re-election, so he is going to try his hardest to please his constituents and get a conviction in this case.Whether or not they actually raped her, they were stupid in even putting themselves in the position of having an exotic dancer at a party where there was underage drinking.Their Lacrosse team has a history of thinking they can get away with anything, and now they are in a bad position because of that attitude.
