Many will obviously pick "perimeter D", but I think it's pressure defense. Too many times, the other team just strolls in, passing it to their guard to make something happen. I've seen so much "Man D" allowing teams to break us down and create "mismatches" or wide open shots right under the basket. I think Nate needs to work on this. Or if he has, the players need to buy into this pronto.
You don't focus on one type of defense. Good defense is being able to do multiple things well. The better question might have been to ask what is the weakest point in the Blazers defense right now and clearly that would have to be on the perimeter.
Yeah you are probably right. And perimeter D isn't just one set type of D either. You can accomplish good perimeter D by alternating with traps, zones and doubles.
