The Pacers will be taking on the Nets in this 3 vs. 6 matchup. The Pacers hold a 2-1 season series lead and finished the season 41-41 whilst the Nets topped the Atlantic Division at 49-33.
Lol, you mean 49-33. This will proabbly be a good long series. Tough one nonetheless. I see NJN winning it in 7 games.
Yup typo lol I meant 33..I actually think this is the worst matchup the Nets could have gotten coming into the night, its the one Im personally least comfortable with...Heres my problem..I have to go to the carshow in NYC Sunday so Ill be missing the game, looks like Ill be walking around with headphones and a portable radio so I can at least hear it.. :no3:
This is the only team of the bottom four that I didnt want. Our weakness is the PF position as everyone knows. Now we have to go up against Jermain O'Neal. He will dominate this series no doubt. Peja will be covered good by Jefferson, and I dont see anyone else on Indiana as a threat. Carter is going to have to step up his game.

I think we can play them well if we can prevent him from getting easy inside buckets. I want to force them to shoot outside shots and control the glass, not allowing second chances. They are a good shooting team, so hopefully we wont allow O'Neal to get position inside and create open looks for shooters off double teams. If we make them strictly a perimiter team and keep Foster in check off the boards, we should be fine. Another thing that worries me is Indiana's depth, they are clearly the best team of those bottom four in my opinion...

O'Neal is still a good shooter from the outside (not 3 pointers I mean shots from like the free throw line) but not as good as when hes downlow. Rick is also one of the best coaches in the league, and isnt stupid. He will be putting the ball in Jermain's hands on the block and let him do his thing against Collins. Its very important that he holds his groud like he does with Shaq. There is no question they are the top out of the bottom 4. Our luck we get them.

Like I said what worries me is their depth and their ability to score inside and oustide with the combonation of O'Neal and their shooters..If we can control the boards and keep O'Neal in check, we should be in good shape..Collins is one of the best defenders in the league and I hope he will be able to take care of JO on the blocks.

Collins needs to keep his ground. Im not that worried about Peja, Jefferson is a great defender and will stay on him. Jkidd will shut down Tinsley like he always does, and probley get into a fight like usual lol. Kritic should have a great series.
There are alot of x-factors in this series, Indiana has some experience, but they have obviously struggled of late as well. They are just about healthy now and have had some time to play together so they could be dangerous..Some of the factors for Indiana include the play of Jackson and Peja on the perimeter, Tinsley's ability to run the point and defend Kidd, and O'Neal's play downlow. I think they are a very dangerous team, but not nearly as scarry as last year's club because of that defensive force in Artest that is missing..For the Nets, I think Collins will play a huge role on defense as we have already stated, and it will be important to attack the basket with Carter and Jefferson, feed Krstic in the post and off pick and rolls, as well as bench production and Carter's shot selection..It should be a good series, I think its one of the best first round matchups, hopefully we will be able to take care of bussiness and advance..

If Jkidd is as good as he was in the ECF in Boston 4 years ago I think, we win. Kidd is the key to our wins. Carter could have the best series, but without Kidd we would still lose. If Kidd plays great, we win.
Im not worried about Kidd, its playoff time he will step it up, no doubt about it, he wants a ring and he will play his heart out for that team..Thats the last thing Im worried about..Kidd will be spectacular..
Im not worried about Kidd, im just saying if he plays like he usually does, we should win...........btw we need more Net fans here me and you are like talking to ourselfs lol.
i hope the pacers can pull it off, cause stephen jackson is one of my favorite players as is jermaine o'neal.........but j-kidd, r.j., vince "the man who quites on his teammates when stuff goes wrong" carter will be to much for the pacers to handle, peja is good on offense but he ain't the best defensive player out there.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nba&id=2417133A solid article about Jason Collins and his assingments for this series..
I think it'll be tough. Nenad Kristic kills centers with him outside jumper, but Jermaine O' Neal and Nenad Kristic can both come out and guard him. The Pacers are incredibly tough defensively when they want to be, so it'll be tough for Vince Carter to do efficient damage. The X - Factor for me, will be RJ. If Jefferson can get open 20 footers and lull him defenders to sleep, he could be the deciding factor. Most people don't realize how efficient RJ is: He averages 20 PPG on 50% shooting, and only 12.8 shots per game. That's right, he doesn't shoot 13 times per game, astounding
Yeah Collins will do fine against O'Neal.Former Nets Johnson and Jackson will be a threat though. Wright and Tinsley are out the first two games I believe they said but I think Nets in 6.

Hes so versatile, he can play 3 positions and hes a leader and a winner..He has playoff experience and he is well liked by his teamattes..After Kidd, he is my favorite Net..<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Universe @ Apr 22 2006, 11:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah Collins will do fine against O'Neal.Former Nets Johnson and Jackson will be a threat though. Wow. Its halftime on TNT, and Carter attempted 19 FGS in the 1ST HALF!!! He only connected on 5 field goals. Pacers up 50-46. Stephen Jackson has 16 pts on 7-10 shooting but JO is in foul trouble.
