I, personally, didn't understand why everyone thought they'd be so much better this year, despite the moves they made this summer.
Normally, Outlaw comes in with 6 minutes left in the 1st. Tonight, he came in with 3 minutes left, and Webster came in with 6 minutes left. You know what, forget it... it was a confusing statement and I'm having a hard time explaining it. The upshot is that I thought at the time that Outlaw would play fewer minutes so that Bayless could play some, but it's really that Webster's playing fewer. I mean, there's only so many minutes to go around... that's all I was trying to say.
Miller was announced at SF by Mark Mason... he also "guarded" Ginobli when Manu hit the 3... I think he's actually pretending to play SF.
They're being really stingy handing them out. According to 'Tone, Miller didn't get one on his pass to Outlaw for the 3 earlier.
Geez, an athletic, young team that can run and push the ball. Who would've thunk it? Well done McGenius, how many years to figure that one out?
They were VERY unhealthy last year, and they significantly upgraded at the small forward with Richard Jefferson. Even accounting for normal age-related backsliding by Duncan and Ginobili, the team should have improved. They look very small and old at this point, though... Ed O.
