Blake was there to hold Roy's hand and tell him it'll be okay. It's a transition period. When Roy finally learns to play with Miller, Blake will disappear like Quantum Leap, and enter the body of... Juan Dixon?! Oh boy.
Ginobli and Jefferson have had to pull up for floaters after they've been trying to take it inside all game, so nice to see Oden changing the game. They see him on the switch and decide to take pull up shots, so cool.
Miller, Roy, Oden and Aldridge need to play a lot of minutes henceforth (fouls permitting, in Oden's case). They're the best players at their positions. Miller didn't have a great game statistically, but he really seemed to enhance the flow of the offense. And Roy seemed quite comfortable playing with him. And Oden definitely continues to look good when he's on the floor.
Who knew. If you give Oden the ball and let him get game experience on the offensive end of the court he give you even more on the defensive end, and if you start Andre Miller he can in fact make Brandon Roy better by giving him easier looks (Blake gave him some nice assists too).
I think the biggest change for Oden was that he calmed down on offense and defense, and played in control for once. Once he made a couple of shots, he became someone worth going into, and they took advantage of it.
I gotta give props where it's due. MM had the bird's eye low down on this caper... whatever that means.
I wonder if would have withstood their rally if Parker had been available. Seriously awesome game by GO and pretty good from BRoy, but our perimeter defense is lacking.
Interesting split: in the 2009 calendar year, we're 2-0 when injuring the opponent's starting PG in the first half.
Great win. Let's give Nate the game ball for his incredibly gutsy starting lineup and just a perfect rotation. Nate, I salute you. Roy and Oden were huge. And Travis clutch Outlaw came up with a bigtime shot again.
Liked that Nate went with Oden even though he got his 5th. Props to Oden for defensive smarts. Still effective even though he had to give up on a couple of plays to keep from fouling out. In truth, he should never try to block in those situations anyway. It's awesome to see that he's learning that.
