Guns & pot found in car owned by IversonBy REGINA MEDINA & GLORIA CAMPISIcampisg@phillynews.com 215-854-5935Another vehicle linked to Sixers star Allen Iverson has wound up in the news after police in Conshohocken allegedly found handguns and marijuana inside the automobile, a black 2005 Ford Mustang.Iverson had no connection to the drugs or guns, and the person driving the vehicle "was driving it with Iverson's permission," Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said late yesterday. The person using the car, a juvenile, reportedly is a cousin or other relative of Iverson's. The Mustang registered in the name of the Sixers' star reportedly "had been given to one of the juveniles by Iverson as a gift," Castor said."The bottom line is that Iverson didn't do anything wrong," Castor said.Iverson's automobiles have figured in a series of incidents involving friends and relatives dating back to 1997, including a hit-and-run involving the star's Mercedes- Benz allegedly driven by his uncle in May 2003.The unnamed Iverson relative was arrested by Conshohocken police early April 12 with two other juveniles and Jermaine Allen Pierce, 18, a star football player at Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School in Norristown. The Iverson relative reportedly also plays on the Kennedy-Kenrick football team. The juveniles were not identified because of their ages.Pierce, who recently won a football scholarship to Syracuse University, has been cleared of charges of possessing and dealing illicit drugs and having drug paraphernalia in connection with the incident, Castor said. He said Pierce was "not involved with the guns and drugs."But similar charges are pending against the three juveniles, including the Iverson relative, Castor said.Pierce, speaking at an all-star basketball game he was attending last night in Conshohocken, said, "Everything turned out for the good. I've been cleared of the charges."It was frustrating to go through this," he said. "But now I'm just looking forward."Pierce and the juveniles were arrested after police, responding to a call, found a group of teenagers near the car in an alley off Poplar Street near Elm in Conshohocken. Inside the Mustang, police allegedly found two loaded .22-caliber revolvers, the district attorney confirmed.Police then obtained a search warrant and in the glove compartment discovered 11 plastic baggies believed to contain marijuana.According to the Norristown Times Herald, the glove compartment also contained 77 empty baggies, a box of 50 long-rifle rim-fire bullets, $30 in cash and the automobile's ownership documents.Iverson couldn't be reached for comment last night.[More In Source]

Not surprising considering who Iverson rolls with, but this certainly isn't helping Iverson's rehabilitated image.I'm really beginning to think Iverson is trying to make sure he stays in Philadelphia... we'll see what happens.

If anything, this will make Philly want to get rid of him.

This makes other teams not want him as much, teams want to trade for a star player who is reliable off the court to not get in trouble.

The article does say that the District Attorney is not going to hold Iverson accountable, but being as this involves Allen Iverson the media will have another field day with this...

I'm damn sure that this team has a GM who won't rid AI at all. This guy is way 2 valuable, even for a little thing like this. And it also said that AI had no affiliation with the weapons/drugs.

Hmm...he's a loose cannon swingman, who has a big contract...I'm guessing he'll end up with the Knicks.

There is absolutely nothing on New York's roster that makes any trade appealing. And since when is Iverson a swingman?

    A swingman is more of a SG/SF combo, not a PG/SG combo...
