"....this upcoming road trip is exactly what the Blazers need to help cure some of their basketball woes." Is that true that road trips can sometimes serve towards bringing a team closer together? Canzano mentioned team dinners, buddy excursions, goofing around together, and the like as activities that help draw guys together whch then can result in better play on the basketball floor. Have you seen this happen at times? If so, what are your experiences? Thanks!
Honestly I don't think it matters all that much. Canzano's main assertion from what I remember of his article the other day, is that Roy and Miller need to bond on the plane, the bus and over team dinners to somehow heal a rift between them (leave it to JC to turn it into some touchy feely human interest story). They just need to play; Miller needs to get comfortable playing with the starters and the starters need to get comfortable playing with him and the bench needs to step up badly with it's production and consistency (I'm looking at you Rudy and Travis). You know what will really cure their woes? Wins, that's it. Nothing more nothing less.
I have not read his article, but you can't help but bond on the road. There are team dinners and we'll hit up movies sometimes on off days. They sometimes set up trips for the guys to go to, like museums and stuff, so they get a lot of quality time together whether it is forced or not, it's a good thing. It's kinda like when businesses send there people off to those work camps or retreats where they can work on trust and other issues to make their companies run smoother. It's just that these retreats happen to take place at 35,000 feet and the Four Seasons! I have been sworn to secrecy to what happens on the road, stays on the road, but I have a few that the statutes of limitations have run out on! Maybe very soon I will spill the beans on some Ruben Patterson/HCP/ZBO "bonding" experiences!
I don't think there is a statute of limitations on some of the things you plan on revealing... **Oregon Statutes - Chapter 163 - Offenses Against Persons - Section 163.315 https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/163.315.html
So... Ruben was mentally incapacitated and Zach physically helpless? They sure looked it on the court. HCP, how dare you take advantage of them that way!
If Canzono is correct (and I certainly hope he is), then the Blazers should be first in the NW Division by the end of the week. Yet another bold ABM prediction. Just remember, even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
I was going to type something about ZBo needing the "ball" in his hands...but I think that crossed a line...
This 2-game winning streak is a real nice way to launch the long road trip. I'm hopeful for 3-2. 4-1 would be absolutely awesome. Oh, and............. I WANT REVENGE AGAINST THE HAWKS!!
The other question is, will the other teams prepare themselves of the 3 guard combo that Portland has established? I can see that Portland could go 3-2 on this road trip with a 50% chance and 4-1 for the other 50%.
