    Interesting night.

Soko looks like a fighter who has been broken mentally. That was a sad performance.

Decent win for Werdum...but not great. He survived a tough 1st round, but the way Silva gassed, Werdum should have finished him.

I can't make up my mind about the Shields/Miller fight. A smart tactical win by Shields - or is Miller just all hype? I agree with the folks who say Shields is not marketable.

Rogers semi-impressed me. He is a little crude, but some of his shots landed clean and actually hurt Fedor. If he can polish his game a bit, he could be good. (and the Hvy Weight division is pretty shallow)

Re: Fedor vs. Rogers spoiler thread [event results]

Heh, Miller had Shields subbed if he had 10 more seconds, but the bell went.

Meh, I like shields more than Miller. Miller I find is just a big douche who is acting like a dumbass for attention all the time.

I think Shields is best off sticking at WW, but it's not like Strikeforce has much of a WW division, or really much of a MW division either though.

and man, Soko was hanging fine with Mousasi for the first 8 minutes, it was back and forth. Mousasi tried to take him down multiple times early, and Sokoudjou ended up on top each time. If he could improve his cardio, he'd be a bigger threat.

    Fuxk Sokoduhouy.

Wat a fycjub quitter. He was winnin that fight, 2. He quit. Fuck him. He isn't a fighter. Fight or flight mentality. The 1st bit of adversity, he rolls up and quits.

    Fuck him.

Mark Miller vs. Deray Davis was canceled due to time constraints.

Re: Strikeforce & M-1 Global Present: Fedor vs. Rogers (Nov. 7th)

Rogers showed me a little something; he really used his size and strength in the early going.

At the start of the second round, I got a little anxious, thinking: "The first time I get to see Fedor on television (rather than a YouTube clip)... he's not going to be beaten, is he?"

I was most concerned about the cut on his nose. He seemed to be bleeding a lot, and his face was all purple (I guess he has a lot of scar tissue).

Then... BAM! One haymaker and the fight was over!

I liked what I saw of Mousasi too, but, yes, that was tempered once Sokoudjou folded....

I was disappointed by Mousasi. Sok was throwing him around like a rag doll until Mousasi mounted a bit of offense.

And then, Sok quit like a little bitch.

I think we're a little spoiled by how patient Emelinaneko is. The same thing happened with Arlovski. "Wow, Fedor's getting beat! Is this it?!"... then he pulls the string and the fight is over. Rogers was starting to gas out a little as well, IMHO.

Sokoudjou fought well but when the going gets tough he turtles.

Sokoudjou turtles, but cardio is obviously a problem too. The first round was pretty close, and the first half of the second as well.

Rogers was definitely getting tired from all the rolling in the first round. Even if he didn't get KOed in the 2nd he would have been dead tired by the 3rd.

Injuries to Fedor's thumb and nose will keep him out of action 4-6 months. Not that he fights more often than that.

They really need to throw a pile of money at Overeem and get him to do the fight.

    Werdum is an uninspiring challenger.

Re: Strikeforce & M-1 Global Present: Fedor vs. Rogers (Nov. 7th)

What's so remarkable about Fedor is that fact that he's unflappable. He's been in bad positions numerous times in his career, but he always keeps his wits, recovers and finds a way to win. He nearly had the armbar locked in during the first round.

What's always amazed me about Fedor, is his lack of Ego. If he's pounding a guy out but not finishing him, he doesn't keep dropping useless bombs if a leg or arm presents itself, he changes tactics at the drop of a hat and goes for the submission. You never watch him fihgt and scream for him to go for a sub that presents itself or to throw a punch if the sub is not locked up, he makes the correct move almost every time. 99% of MMA fighters do not adapt to the situation at all and none do it as quickly as Fedor can.

He's human, he takes damage, but he never cracks under pressure and always does the right thing to get a win.
