as far as playing within himself, under control, and within the system I view yesterday's game as easily his best as a pro and also him showing the necessary skills to play with Roy (and others) as a PG on this team. He made the "right" passes, went to the basket well, and even his jumper is looking a lot better. He remains a work in progress but last night really made me see his potential as a Blazer.

it's been my position for a while that the effectiveness of his J is probably directly linked to his PT. Last year his shot was piss poor (36% from the field 26% from 3's)... pretty easy to cheat off someone shooting that poorly. He's played all of 23 minutes so far this season and has yet to even attempt a deep ball... it's far too limited of a sample to know if what we're seeing from him is a blip or a trend. But if he continues to knock down open looks I'm sure that Nate will carve him out a role because of his advantages over the other options. He's probably the best run-jump athlete on the club and his ability to drive and draw fouls on opposing Bigs could be a tremendous weapon in the Blazer attack.

Hmmmm ... great points. So lets see, if Bayless continues to show improvement and develop then he could be ready for a major role by the end of next year or the start of the following year. Hey, wait a minute .... isnt that when Miller and Blake could be gone? I think the Blazers may be onto something here.

All joking aside, I love what Bayless already brings and drool at the thought of what he could bring. Here's to hoping and praying that he keeps it up and gets there. The big question is whether or not he can be patient long enough to get there. If he can and Batum gets anywhere near where some people think he can, then it will almost be unfair to the rest of the league.

When Bayless plays more as a SG he's much more in his element. When he tries to play PG in the set offense, he still is clueless and looks very confused. But, he really energizes the team. I just wonder how long Roy will take a lesser role.

How bad Roy wants to win will tell you. Obviously last night is an extreme as far as low scoring goes for him, but if he really buys into that we take what the other team gives us as we have the weapons to take advantage of that, then we are simply an improved and dangerous team. It's situational, we will need him badly vs some teams as a scorer and not so much against others. Hell he got his max deal, lets now win and forget about individual stats.

Is a foot on the line considered a deep ball? BTW, he made it.

Make sure you keep in mind that T-pups are arguably one of the worst teams in the NBA right now. I would love to see him put up this type of production with a high quality team. Kudos to him though. He looked good.

I agree Mags but lets keep in mind that even against lousy teams he never IMO looked nearly as good as he did last night. Here's to hoping it the beginning of good things to come and not an aberration!

Yeah a real pain in the ass. He argues for the sake of arguing. Like everyone posts something position, then he jumps in and disagrees with everyone. It's annoying as hell! HAHAHAHAHA. I ran him off two days ago, after I was just sick of it.

That's pretty funny because he was playing as a point last night and was the one calling out plays when he was on the floor. Sure he and Rudy shared playmaking duties while they were on the floor but I think you might be selling him just a little bit short.

The bench unit is showing you don't have to have a PG to succed in the league. You just have to have enough ball handling/creativity for what you need to succeed. When you have 2 scoring guards out there to generate offense, and they share the ball, you will have good things happening. I noticed that Rudy and Bayless are sharing the ball very well with each other so far, which means there is some trust developing between them. That trust wasn't there last year. Now we just have to see if it extends beyond the last 2 games.

Yep, I've posted on that forum since 2000, back when you had to put your moniker every time you posted. It was a mad house then, since the freaken L.A. times put out an article about the forum and all those Laker fans came in and tried taking over our forum. LMAO! I remembered when "Eric" was pretty much running the show there. Well with all the technical shit. He had me as the first "Fan" caller on Quick's chat. It was funny as all hell because I predicted we would dominate the league for years to come. We all know how that turned out.

Damn all those names I remembered. SacKing (We used to call him SacQueen), Hooligan (Laker fan), MAXLBC (Laker asshole), masonjar (self proclaimed no it all attorney), and so many others. I bet there were hundred on that forum at times. I remembered getting 24 hour bans over and over, talking trash to the laker trolls.

LMAO! I remembered O-live making a Laker forum on their site, trying to get the Laker fans out of the Blazer forum. Ahhhhh... The good times... :D

    My nickname for Jerryd.

Jerryd "Jackhammer" Bayless. Because he continuously pounds the ball.
