there was no need for that on Saturday. The student section was packed, standing, and cheering loudly the whole game... they were directly across from our seats.

I've been in louder crowds before but my girl and I were having to semi-yell to communicate... If I wanted to talk to my dad seated two seats away I had to lean across mom. I'm pretty sure this was because of the crowd noise. The three stadiums you mention are noted for their loudness, but this game exceeding all of the many games at the Rose Bowl I've attended.

Whats your theory on why Oregon had so many false starts?

I don't know about anyone else in here who grew up in the 70s and 80s, but the idea that both U of O and OSU would ever be in the top 25 individually, much less together, was inconceivable. Now, it doesn't even phase me.

It's incredible that two colleges tucked away in the backwoods (according to the rest of the country) without much homegrown talent could have accomplished so much in the past 10 years.

    to both programs.

As a relatively uninterested observer, I have to point out that the run of the Oregon schools kind of coincided with Don James retiring and no longer holding a hammerlock on northwest recruits. Do you think Jonathan Stewart goes to UO in 1993?

I'll admit the Stanford crowds have been getting better this year, with the Oregon game being the best I have seen.
