Beat the Spurs w/out Tony Parker for 2.5 quarters and beat the T-Pups.

    Plan the parade.

So Roy cares more about his individual stat lines than our W-L record?

    What a jackass.

I didn't say that, did I? He hasn't complained at all about moving to SF. I said I'm sure he's happy about it. Who wouldn't be? You are the poster calling him a selfish jackass.

One who cares about winning? (Wait: don't I mean: one who doesn't care about winning? The sarcasm is just too confusing.)

I bet Rashard Lewis wasn't too happy about playing PF. Until they made it to the finals. Likewise Robert Horry. Steve Smith, Jalen Rose and Penny Hardaway all thought they were PGs at first. Turned out they weren't.

Now, I'm not saying Roy isn't a SG. He is. But he's not a PG, which is what he's used to being played like in the fourth quarter.

But why are we talking about this like Quick knows jack diddly?

Yeah what's even more silly. That we had a tough time with "teams we should have beaten" with the traditional line-up. Oh and keep in mind, Roy had a nice game playing "out of position" at SF against SAS. I guess he's pretty pissed about that too huh?

I'd sit Blake and insert Webster into the line-up, but that's just my suggestion. That way, you have your best player at the position he is his best at. Roy is going to get worn down covering SFs, and I don't see this system working against teams like Cleveland, Boston, the Lakers, Denver, or Orlando, to name a few.

I really don't mind being the only poster who thinks it is foolish to expect Roy to play SF for an entire season. If that is the plan, why not trade him to a team with an elite SF that would prefer to have an elite SG?

I didn't say he was pissed. If the team wants a new starting SF, trade Roy to get one who can actually defend SFs.

You really think so, with Lakers? Wasn't Roy mainly played by Artest against Houston? I remembered Roy guarding him a ton during the playoffs and reg season. And what about them having to guard him?

LOL! Okay. Well so far, our back court has played pretty good D in the last two games. If they keep it up for 10 games or more, will you believe?

Just listening to Canzano. Apparently Roy did go to KP about this on friday. Maybe the blazers have outgrown Roy. Maybe that is what this is all about. If Roy can't grow with the team, why should the rest of the team suffer?

If you think Roy is as good of a SF as he is a SG, then there is no reason to continue our conversation.

Perhaps he can also back-up Oden at center.

No, it was actually Shane Battier that guarded Roy for the most part, with Artest taking it in stretches.

Exactly. Trade Roy and give Andre Miller his max extension. Miller is the future of this team.

It was actually Batum guarding Artest as well, with Roy guarding Battier. Nic did a solid job on Artest, however.

Well then, no arguing with that in-depth commentary.

I don't think the majority in here are expecting this lineup to last all season. I don't think Nate expects it to either. Which is why most of us aren't whining about Roy playing out of position as an undersized, unhappy, brooding SF who needs to be traded for a natural SF. We're just trying to appreciate the wins that potentially come from this lineup change, and will re-evaluate when an opponent it clearly won't work well against comes up.
