Noah with 12 points and 20 rebounds. Rose with 18 points, 5 assists and 2 blocks. Deng with 21-6-5. Bulls down 87-85 with a minute and a half left. Looks like we can win this one.
-Melo with a nice J over Deng. Good D but even better O. -Billups fouls Rose with the intention of a non-shooting foul. -Rose knowcks both FTs in -10 seconds left. I'm loving this knitty-gritty Bulls team.
10 seconds, game timed at 89 (high scoring game for the Bulls!), Denver ball. Hinrich fouls Billups who's going to win it at the FT line.
Aaand the call is no good. I say that shot was good. From many angles it was too close to call, but the one straight forward looked like it was good.
I think .3 seconds isn't enough time for him to turn and shoot. And the overhead camera clearly showed the ball in his hand when the light went on around the backboard. Almost...
I'm starting to think we're pretty good, as outlined in the other thread. Generally speaking, this game sucked to lose. I still really wish we'd drafted Ty Lawson. Dude has jets in his feet.
Against Denver we went 4-18 from 3pt. If we made 5-18, we win. In fact, we're dead last in 3pt shooting at 25.3% as a team. I watched the game last night on NBA TV. The guys between quarters and at halftime were consistently saying the Bulls are seriously offensively challenged. Every possession is frantic and there's few easy baskets. I'd like to see the team do well, but we're basically 1 game over .500, and we're sitting with the 6th seed just 1 game ahead of Toronto, Detroit, Philly, Charlotte, and Indy. My glass of Kool-Aid is half empty.
Don't worry DC the Bulls always start slow. They've competed in every game this year (except vs. Boston) and i think they could grab 3 wins when they go into the road trip. If they do that i think they'll be in good shape. Sometimes you just need to believe!
I agree. So far they've lost on the road to teams that have 2 combined losses. And they lost at home to a team that made the western conference finals by 1 point and held the best pure scorer in the league to 21 points. I think it's a lot more likely that the shooting comes around than a team suddenly decides to commit to playing defense. So I think they've got the hard part covered. As long as they keep playing defense and sharing the ball on offense they can't help but be a solid team. And they are already better than they were last year.
