...increased/extended due to the arrival of Miller. At least, that's what they were tossing around on last night's Talkin' Ball. They cited Roy's (exhausted) play against the Rockets in last season's playoffs. Then, they surmised that Andre's presence will allow Roy to play with a lot more freedom, flexibility - in a few less minutes - while also helping to alleviate the punishment Roy's body has taken over the past few seasons. I don't know if this is true, or not, but it's an interesting concept, nonetheless.
I must have been watching a different series... He was swarmed and pressured, to be sure, but I don't recall seeing any signs of his energy or health suffering as a result.
For the last two years we have used the Roy iso almost exclusively through the 4th qtr and at any other time we needed a bucket. I think it probably takes a toll on his body, and the addition of Miller has seemed to take some pressure off him after he was thrown into the starting lineup.
All you have to do is look at what happened to Dwade two seasons ago to see what happens to a player that has to carry too much of the load. I was very much for the load to be lightened for him, or we would be looking at one of those seasons where he is fighting 3 to 4 injuries and still trying to carry the team.
He took a pounding in that series. I would have asked for some help, as well. Now? Be careful what you ask for.
That's not what you referenced in the first post, though. The thread was about his energy and health taking a hit in the Rockets series, but there was no evidence of that in how he played. Now, two rounds of that might have taken a toll, but that's purely speculation at that point.
