I found this to be a very good read, even if it starts off a bit soap boxish.

I think that was very well written and its main point is one I agree with and think is very valid. You don't just put together a 27 fight win streak in MMA by being lucky.

I think Fedor is #2 P4P, behind GSP.

I think he is more likely to lose in the UFC than in Strikeforce, especially considering he'd have to fight Brock first (who has 60 pounds of muscle on Fedor)

and then he'd have to fight probably Carwin and Velasquez.

Carwin who has strong wrestling, and hits about as hard as anyone, although we haven't seen any of his fights go long enough to see his conditioning.

and then Cain who is a cardio-machine, but we haven't seen him against a BJJ ace.

    Agreed.

I used to not believe it, but I watched a lot of highlights and fights recently...and the dude is just a fucking machine.

On a P4P level, no way GSP touches him. GSP's ground game is good, but not good enough to topple Fedor. His striking game isn't Fedor's level, either.

Fedor would crush Cain, beat Carwin on the ground, and I think KO Lesnar (a far different cry than what I was saying 3-4 months ago).

In all honesty, I'd be more surprized if Fedor beat Brock than vice versa.

Rogers does not have 1/4 of the ground control that Brock has, Brock would not be easily reversed, and Brock is becoming a lot more technical in the way that he chooses his GnP.

I do think Fedor is in trouble against Brock.

They probably said the same thing about Copernicus for claiming the Earth revolved around the Sun.

I'm inclined to agree that Brock would most likely use his size and wrestling to suffocate Fedor and control him much the same way he controlled Mir the 2nd time they fought. Mir was basically hog tied and Lesnar had a free hand (or should I say Brick) to pound away on Mir and we all saw how effective those short controlled punches were from a man as big as Lesnar.
Fedor could be better than Mir on the ground and wiggle out from it, but he'd be on his back a lot and would eventually tire. That said, Fedor always finds a way to win and this instance could be no different, but I'd say the betting lines would have this fight as a near pick'em.

That couldn't be it, everyone looked that fruity back then.

It would be more weird if he looked like Einstein, who looks like some random hobo.
