We were 5-4 through 9 games last year, they said it was the best start since the 1999-2000 WCF team, and best road start (3-1) since that team as well.
just checked ESPN.. looks like we were 5-4 this point last year edit: dammit either I'm too slow today or others are bad ass fast lol.
while i'm pleased with the play of late, let's all remember who we have played so far. Minny and Memphis are 3 of those wins, not exactly the toughest of teams.
uh, the "panic" was caused in part by a starting lineup that wasn't including Miller or Oden, and a plodding, isolation-based offense. Since then, we've upped the tempo, started Miller, and gotten Greg untracked. Amazingly enough, we're winning by double digits. No panic if the team's not losing b/c of lame-a-bility.
I wonder when the last time is we had a better road record than home record? (Not counting something like 1-0 vs. 0-0 after an opening night on the road.)
Should we have not beaten those teams? Yes it was against bad teams but we dominated them. We should be worried if we had not dominated them. Let's keep things in perspective.
We don't need to, now. He's doing and implementing many of the things that we "clueless" fans were spouting off about. His coaching and decision-making is vastly improved from just two weeks ago.
Yeah, because we all know how many "clueless" fans were imploring Nate to go with a Roy/Miller/Blake starting line-up. Funny how all those same "clueless" fans who pooh-poohed (and continue to pooh-pooh) the three guard starting line-up now want to take credit for being smarter than Nate by saying he's only doing what they wanted all long. While a lot of us (me included) wanted Miller to start, I don't recall a single poster advocating starting both Miller AND Blake before the fact. When the Blazers lose, Nate is an idiot. When they win, he's still an idiot because he didn't do what the fans (supposedly) wanted sooner. Of course, the first time the Blazers lose a game with the three guard starting line-up, it will also be because Nate is an idiot. Unless the Blazers go 82-0 and sweep their way through the play-offs, there will always be multiple posters who think they can do a better job coaching the team than Nate. That doesn't mean I consider him above criticism (I criticized him after the Atlanta game for sitting both Greg and Joel for most of the 2nd half). I just think it's funny the way posters in this forum jump all over Nate no matter what he does. BNM
Whoa, it's a 5.8 game lead. 56.8 (.693) Portland 51.0 (.622) Denver http://www.coolstandings.com/basketball/basketball_standings.asp Standings expected, in order: 1 Boston, 2 Portland, 3 Lakers, 4 Phoenix, 5 Cleveland. We will be best in the West.
You've convinced me that we've been too harsh on McMillan. So what has that boob Pritchard been up to lately?
