This board seemed to be split down the middle on this guy all off-season. Now, we've seen Minnesota twice in the last week, and for those of you with league pass, you may have caught a few other T-Wolves games.

I certainly wasn't high on him and what I've seen this year is exactly the reason I wasn't surprised nobody was offering him the MLE.

For those people high on Sessions, are you still high on him? If so, why?

    "Minnesota seems pleased with Sessions."

Disclaimer - not my opinion. I thought he was a dud.

I think Minnesota got a very good value. I really like and liked him as a prospect but I don't think I was one of the extreme Sessions-backers.

Back up PG on a very bad team at Sessions' contract is a good value? How? He's making Blake money as a young player with an 8.8 PER and no shooting range.

He seems like kind of a punk. His reaction to Rudy's foul in the 4th (?) was out of line.

I remember the board battles about Sessions this summer. You do as well, obviously.

So, where are the "extreme" Sessions backers? He stinks.

I guess I'm drawing a blank. I don't remember these battles, nor do I remember any "extreme" backers. I know a few people liked the idea of Sessions. I liked the idea of a "pure" point guard, though I admit I hadn't seen him play much. Now that I've seen a bit more of him, he sure doesn't seem like much of a pure point guard. :dunno:

Your lack of memory of the debates doesn't mean they didn't happen. Tince obviously remembers it as well.

    Point?

I liked him quite a bit and as to why he's struggling so massively this season where he wasn't before I can only guess. Perhaps he's uncomfortable learning Rambis' version of the triangle, or maybe playing with another point guard in Flynn is messing him up ... or maybe he just sucks.

This is not the Sessions I remember watching on league pass last year 15 or so times. he was terrible tonight aside from a couple of finishes in the lane in garbage time. Although I am somewhat surprised that he was 10/5 with zero turnovers on 5/8 shooting, he didn't seem like he was setting the tempo at all tonight.

I don't think he's looked good at all, although I don't think the Wolves are allowing him to showcase his repetoire. But he's an average mid-level PG at best. The Bucks just seem to have a good system for PGs, now that you see Jennings thriving there. Skiles does a good job with guards and wing players.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I wanted Sessions quite a bit, as I thought he was the best attainable young point guard. He's off to a bad start this season, but it'll take more than the first few games of this season to change my impression of how well he played his first two seasons in the NBA.

There was some risk to him, since he hadn't played a ton of minutes over those two years. But that was the point--if you wait until there's no risk and they're proven star-caliber, they become exorbitantly expensive to trade for or unavailable. The idea was to try to acquire an unproven point guard who had shown the possibility of becoming above average or better. The numbers he put up in Milwaukee definitely suggested that possibility and the chances I got to see him, he definitely seemed to have legitimate distributing skills and a solid ability to get to the hoop and score.

Too soon. He's a young PG on a new (crappy) team learning a new offense. It's hard to shine as a pass-first PG when the guys you pass to suck. Flynn has looked "better" so far because he's more of a shoot first PG.

In any case, it doesn't really matter. With, or without Sessions, Minnesota will be camped out in the NW division cellar for the foreseeable future.

IAE - I remember the heated Sessions debates. A lot of people on this forum really wanted him. Now they are all hiding lol

I wanted to see the Blazers sign him, but I don't recall getting into any heated debates about him. He hasn't looked good so far this year, but I think it's early to be calling him a bust.

    No LOL

I often just read the first post and make my own comment lol

I have been bad lately.. I have been on hip hop and rap forums lately doing battles and trying to make money. My forum etiquette has gone down.

I am done with the rap forums again, so I will get back to good ol' new me!

Sessions definitly looks worse this year than last year. But at the same time, you have to give him some slack, he is playing in a whole new system, on a team with much less talent. Having a few good players around you can make you much better as a player. Right now he doesn't have a whole lot of help there in Minnesota.
