[IMG]The time is upon us. This is what every basketball fan looks forward too. The tears and joys of upsets and buzzer beaters. Where people prove themselves that they are more than stars, and that they are heroes. Not just heroes of the team, but of the city and country. Round 1 begins of a long and tough road to decide who is the best, who is the cream of the crop, who is good enough to call themselves 'champions'...[IMG]Detroit Pistons [1]vsMilwaukee Bucks [8]The Bucks come in as the huge underdogs in this one. The powerhouse Pistons are looking to be in the Finals for the third time in three years and proved yet again this year that they can play. With Ben and Rasheed in the post verses the rookie Bogut and former All-Star Magloire, the Bucks face a huge disadvantage. The comeback season of TJ Ford brings hope that he can run the Pistons defense down. Though there is no certainty on who will win, the hope for the Bucks is slim as I predict they will be swept 4-0. [IMG]Michael Redd 27.5 PPGChauncey Billups 8.7 APGBen Wallace 13.5 RPGCleveland Cavalier [4]vsWashington Wizards [5]Lebron James in his first playoff series. I do not expect him to choke because he hasn't choked his whole career yet. The Cavs are one of the main choices to go up against the Heat or Pistons yet their first round match could be harder than everyone thinks. All-Star Gilbert Arenas has been explosive this year and also has a good playoff record. Jamison will be looking forward to this as well. Also former Wizard, Hughes can try and make a fool out of his old team in the first round. The experience of the Cavs is going to cause a problem but I think in the end, Lebron can pull it off. Cavs win it, 4-3.[IMG]Gilbert Arenas 32.4 PPGLebron James 6.7 APGAntawn Jamison 10.9 RPGNew Jersey Nets [3]vsIndiana Pacers [6]The last time these two teams met in the playoffs was one of the hardest fought first round series ever. I expect no different this year with both teams that can hit hot streaks instantly. A healthy Peja and O’Neal cause an even bigger threat to New Jerseys defense. On the Nets side, it depends on the play of there young center Krstic who played extremely well in last years playoffs. Also many Nets fan rest there faith in the play of Vince Carter who will prove that he is not half amazing anymore. I expect a long series but in the end, Nets take it 4-3.[IMG]Vince Carter 27.6 PPGJason Kidd 9.3 APGJermaine O’Neal 10.2 RPGMiami Heat [2]vsChicago Bulls [7]The Miami Heat are under heavy criticism on how there season went. They will be looking to prove Eastern Conference Finals worthy yet again. The Bulls on the other hand have really nothing to lose. They are young and all of them have a bright future. The play of Ben and Kirk has been great of late but the depth of the Heat may tire out the Bulls in a seven game series. I believe Wade will be huge in this series and help the Heat win 4-2 [IMG]Ben Gordon 25.6 PPGDwyane Wade 6.9 APGShaquille O’Neal 11.5 RPG[IMG]San Antonio Spurs [1]vsSacramento Kings [8]The defending champions have their hands full with a team that started slow but then picked up pace to grab the last spot. The addition of Artest adds defense and offense to this Kings team while point guard Mike Bibby will go under the radar and hurt this Spurs team. Tim Duncan who was quiet during the season may explode now while Tony Parker who was hot all season, will look to overcome his playoff drought. In the end, Spurs defense will crush and will win this series 4-2.[IMG]Tony Parker 25.2 PPGMike Bibby 6.5 APGTim Duncan 11.2 RPGDallas Mavericks [4]vsMemphis Grizzlies [5]The battle of Gasol and Dirk play on as these two teams battle head on. Gasol is having an excellent year while Dirk is in the MVP running. The bench of the Mavs is very deep but Memphis has 6th man candidate Mike Miller. I believe this is going to be the most exciting series to watch as an NBA fan. I am going to pick this as my upset of the first round with Memphis outlasting 4-3.[IMG]Pau Gasol 28.9 PPGJason Terry 6.7 APGPau Gasol 12.4 RPGDenver Nuggets [3]vsLos Angeles Clippers [6]The Clippers are having one of the best seasons in franchise history but are meeting up with a tough opponent. Though Carmelo has never passed GO (first round) he will be looking to make it this year. The battle of Kaman and Brand verses Martin and Camby will be the best post match of the first rounds. Both have there positives and negatives but I believe that Melos clutch shots will prevail over the Clippers 4-2.[IMG]Carmelo Anthony 28.4 PPGAndre Miller 7.1 APGElton Brand 11.4 RPGPhoenix SunsvsLos Angeles LakersThe battle of the scorers. The high scoring Suns team takes on the high scoring Kobe Bryant. Though the Suns are without Amare, they still will do some damage to teams like the Lakers. I believe that Kobe will get his own and it will depend on who else can follow Kobe and get the Lakers into the second round. I just do not see it happening though so I say the Suns will take this one 4-2.[IMG]Kobe Bryant 36.7 PPGSteve Nash 13.2 APGShawn Marion 12.4 RPG
