Dude you weren't around last night and I thought that it was important that we had the doom and gloom faction represented. Look at it as a total compliment. How many other posters could I have started a "'esque" thread about and people would have a clue how to respond?

Watch basketball much? Eventually we are going to play in a game where the nature of the way the game is called or the opponent dictates a more deliberate tempo. And in those games we are going to need to have some reliable half-court sets. I'm perfectly fine with running some iso's for Brandon. Just like the Cavs would do with Lebron or the Thuggets would do with 'Melo, or the Heat would do with D-Wade, or the L*kers would do with the rapist.

I'm not the biggest McMillan fan around by a mile, but fucking hell sometimes your diatribes are annoying. Please find a new hobby if this one wrecks your life as much as you let on.

BTW, I'm completely shocked that this thread hasn't been shut down yet.

Okay this is what boggles my mind because he said he was tinkering with these ISOs in the fourth. Last time I checked, I remembered Roy sat out the 4th quarter. Was this a mis-quote? Coming from Quick, I could believe it.

ISO's are not the answer. Lebron and K*be get theirs off of flow offenses, or clearouts. ISO's really haven't worked since the 90's.

What exactly is the difference between a clear out and an iso?

I'm unhappy because Blake doesn't guard PGs on the perimeter and lets them drive around him.

Then I'm unhappy because PGs get open looks from the outside, where the hell is the man up defense?

I think Roy is the greatest thing ever and Miller is a giant tumor on the team's ass.

But now I think Roy is selfish, needs to adjust, and if he isn't then maybe he can pack his bags. Dre is the man.

    LMA isn't tough enough.

LMA is running great now, scoring a lot of points. If only we had someone to back him up.

    Joel sucks, he can't score.

Joel is great at rebounding, blocking shots, setting picks, and D, but he's going to leave us at the end of this season. We should trade him now for Kirilenko.

    Oden fouls too much.

    Oden doesn't foul enough.

    Fire Nate.

    Fire Nate.

KP is a genius, but his smug attitude is annoying other GMs, preventing us from making a deal.

KP is a tool who can draft but can't trade worth crap. We need Trader Bob back in here.

Sure, Paul Allen looks great, but where the hell are all those pretty women he used to take to the games? What a loser...

Oh, wait, you meant complaints that I have..not all of you...whoops...n/m

Not much, except that I guess in an ISO you could still leave the rest of the team stacked in the paint.

A clear out just clears one side for the ISO attacker to score.

I didn't call out anyone. His posts have a certain style. Everyone who has replied have posted in that style. No one has said anything negative about Mixum. The majority of posts haven't even mentioned him.

An ISO is our 4 down play. Where 4 guys stand on the baseline and Roy goes one on one. A clearout involves motion. A common clearout is when you center and PF set up low on one side....let's say the right said. Then you get the SF to set up in the left corner, and your PG to get the ball to Roy and then cut through using the center and PF as a double pick. The C and PF would then follow the PG out, leaving Roy with an open lane. The benefit is usually that he also have at least 2 options available to him if the play breaks down. In an ISO there is usually no "bailouts" other than bad shots.

The bail out on our isos are generally wide open threes in the corner. I don't consider that a bad shot at all.

Also the specific clear-out play you mention seems awfully different than the typical clear out play run by a lot of teams, which is essentially just an iso on one side of the floor. Clearing out that side of the floor for the isolation play.

Wook, I always refer to the Blazers in first person. :D It's like they are me! It's true homerism at it's finest!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Is MIXUM allowed to take part in this? It seems a bit unfair, like letting Adrian Peterson take part in the NFL's "punt, pass and kick" competition.

I was going to talk to you about that Mags. I'm not sure if someone living in California can refer to the Blazers in the first person.

You're the second person to question someone referring to the Blazers in the first person...

Yeah, but you're actually a fan of the team, not a fox who is convinced he can't reach the grapes when all he has to do is walk towards the light and there's a low table covered in sweet, sweet grapes, ripe for the enjoyment...

Good teams shouldn't have to hurt the other team's start player in order to win.
