Mike James. I eman obviously either David West or Boris Diaw is going to get it because the media hypes them up for the award, but Mike James is averaging 20.3 PPG!! Last year he was a simple role player point guard for the Rockets. This year a dynamic duo along with Chris Bosh. Noone saw it coming.

And not to mention the year b4 that he was on the bench playing for the Pistons.

He's my pick. 12 to 20 PPG is more than good enough

To jump from 12 ppg to 20 is very impressive. However I would much rather take the guy who jumped from 5 ppg to 13 ppg. 2 apg to 6 apg. 4 rpg to 7 rpg. 42 percent shooting to 52 percent. Also the guy who is 3rd in the NBA in triple doubles behind only James and Kidd. The guy I am talking about is Boris Diaw. Give him the trophy

Mike James is actually second or third on my list... right next to David West. My vote for the MIP goes to Boris Diaw though.

I have to say i havent really thought of Mike James as a canadate, but after looking at the stats i would have to say he is about 3rd on my list. I really think David West should get it, but i have no problem Diaw getting it. I guess injuries could hurt West a little. Both are deserving of the award though.

If you're gonna give it to Mike JAmes you might as well give it to Smush Parker who was a nothing in the league last year. I'm going with Diaw he went from nothing to well know roll player. I kind don't like it from his interviews and stuff. But I'll give credit where credit is due.

I think that David West sorta died out towards the end of the season...I want Mike James to win, his numbers were crazy this year.

Mike James also needs the ball to dominate, that's why he never did well with the Rockets. Now that he's the playmaker and what not he can run the offense the way it benefits him the most.

I remember when we had Mike James and he played great for us, I don't understand why we moved him. Oh well. I'd probably have to say Diaw also, those stat increases are very impressive.

Not sure, they just took a chance on Rafer I guess. He can be a great PG and he can be an obnoxious pain in the <Censored>, I suppose they got the latter.

My take on Mike James. He has actually not improved as much as people thought. I remember at the beginning of last season, Mike was playing great when he was getting minutes. He was the Rockets starting pg. He could take alot of shots that he wanted to and his numbers were great. But then they decided to bench him for Bobby Sura and then his stats took a dive. But you had to realize that for a 6th Man, 12 ppg was also really good. If he were starting and getting the shots and offensive control he has in Toronto, he would have got that last year. His numbers have improved because he has control over the Toronto offense. It was obvious that he was a great shooter before. Now he is just taking advantage of the minutes and looks he gets with the ball. He is shooting alot in late game situations and looking to shoot before he is looking to pass. If he took more of a pg approach his numbers would not be like that. I dont think he has improved at all and thats why you give it to someone like Boris Diaw or David West who have worked hard to improve their skills.

Mike James is gunning for his contract this season and nothing else, as soon as some stupid team overpays him he will go back to be the disinterested guy he's always been. MIP player means jack <Censored> so I don't really care who wins.

please. No one with any smarts would give Mike James a 40 million contract. The only reason I want him back for another year is that there is no one out there yet to replace him. Besides Jason Terry but we will not pay for him.

If Earl Watson can get $30 million I don't think it's far fetched for him.
