Are we a jump shooting team anymore? BOOYAH!!!!!!

Points in the paint are increasing, our defense is seriously getting the job done and our guards are starting to realize the importance of tossing it in to our big fellas!

    go blazers!

Actually, so far this year, we attempt more jump shots and less close ones than last year.

It is true that we have more low-post back to the basket scoring because of Greg - but we are actually shooting more jumpers.

Jump shots because of a low post game are fine.

Open jump-shots are fine, does not matter how you get them. The Suns get them because of speed, not true low-post game.

At the end of the day - Chuck's stuff about "jump shooting team" is just nonsense. The issue is
"easy shots" - jump or otherwise does not matter. We shot less jump-shots than the Cavs last year - and their bigs last year were not really low-post bigs as well. Big Z is a slower version of LMA in most of his shot attempts - but no-one harped on them being a jump-shooting team. Of course, it helps that you have a SF that weights like a freight train and can go hard to the rim. The "hard shots" that our guys took are "easy" when you have a 270lbs guy with a handle barreling into the defense.

The fact is that this year, we shoot more jump shots and less close shots. I think that reducing Roy's touches is the main reason for this. It is hard for him to go to the rim as often as he did last year - when he does not initiate the offense.

I am not complaining - having low-post shots by our bigs (and by bigs I mean Oden) is a great thing - but if you look at the details - we are more of a jump-shooting team this year than we were last year.

It is not a surprise that our offensive efficiency is not as good as it was last year.

Brandon, in the new offensive scheme, takes 79% of his attempts as jump-shots, last year he took only 66%

We are, believe it or not, not using Roy as efficiently this year as we should.
