With GSP out of commission until February or March the UFC is considering having him coach TUF. Naturally, the coach opposite of him would be the number one contender waiting for him to be ready--Dan Hardy. GSP was featured on The Comeback season of TUF as a guest trainer but has never had a full coaching gig on the show. Dan Hardy is now a four-fight UFC veteran on a seven-fight winning streak. Hardy hasn't fought in the United States since 2006 and TUF could be a good introduction to him for American fans.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Try-outs have finished for season 11 but filming hasn't yet begun, IIRC. No word on whether the fighters (supposedly middleweight and light heavyweight) will have to fight their way onto the show.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Dan Hardy's world changed overnight. He went from the underdog against Swick to a possible TUF coach and a matchup with GSP...in which he'll get absolutely schooled.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? I wonder if GSP would do TUF, I don't know how comfortable he is with his english. Also if he ends up doing really badly, that might hurt his image.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? There was a three and a half month gap between when season 10 started filming and when the first episode aired. The season will take a little less than three months of episodes to reach the Finale, the weekend after which Rampage and Rashad were to fight. So we're talking at least six months for the whole process. I don't really want to have to wait until May or June to see GSP fight again.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Another rumour has Mark Coleman coaching (with requisite Team Hammer House guys by his side, likely Baroni, Sims, Randleman). Coaching opposite him could be Tito Ortiz. Coleman would make a good coach, IMO. Ortiz has already proven that he can be a successful coach, though his competition last time around was lacking...
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? 1. Tito is a good hard working coach, who can improve his fighters. 2. A coaching staff of Coleman, Randleman, Sims, Baroni would not be a great combination. Pros: Great wrestling teaching Coleman seems like a guy who wouldn't give up on his guys. Cons: - Randleman and Coleman are both excellent wrestlers, but coaching wise they bring very little to teach BJJ or striking. - Bringing in Baroni and Sims as supporting coaches brings practically nothing. - They aren't the brightest guys. - Sims would be a bigger distraction and hinderance than a help for coaching. Tito's team would dominate.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? no one corners like Mark Coleman though... I'd love to watch him just to hear him screaming from the corner "Come on 'insert first name here', come on! get up, don't let him do that!" watching Pride events and hearing Coleman corner Baroni or Randleman was pure gold.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? if they're going to shelve the TUF conncept anytime soon, the last season should be Randy and Chuck, A: because both were pretty good coachs, B: to give the series closure and C: so they can have a geriatric fourth match up.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? I actually agree there. I think they should do Randy/Chuck IV actual for the NYE card that has been hit with injuries.

Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Answer: no. Won't be Couture & Coleman, either, as they're booked. Dunno who it might be at this point. Shonie Carter vs. Phil Baroni--get'er done.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Answer: no. Duh. Wow, I didn't realize I'd have to put or in there.
Re: TUF 11 coaches... Hardy & GSP? Answer: no. Lol, I was just bunching thoughts together. Should've clarified it. Sorry.
Two new rumours... Liddell vs. Ortiz for TUF 11 coaches; GSP vs. Shields for TUF 12 coaches... The second rumour comes from OMA (Kimo is dead) from the UG.
OMA and Shields are buddies I do believe or at the very least have trained and partied together. OMA is the mid-west champion of the world afterall
