Big Nog has Staph and will not fight Velasquez at UFC 108. In related news Brock Lesnar is still very sick.
Yea, Big Nog apparently has "very severe Staph", and it is in his bloodstream. He needs IV to try to get it out, I have no clue how bad it is to have Staph in your bloodstream, but damn it looks bad enough on the skin. I was going to put Randleman's staph infection photo here, but too lazy.
Lesnar sounds to be in even worse condition though, with mono and something else bad (although apparently not cancer or AIDS). "Something bad happened in Canada" Man its weird it all happened so fast, and he was at that Vikings game with the horn, now "he's sick and he won't be getting better any time soon." How long does it usually take to recover from Mono? I have no idea what that disease is even like.
Mono can be super serious and last for several months. My friend was hospitalized twice when he had it. My brother lost 20lbs. when he caught it after coming back from the Dominican. I've heard the symptoms can last up to six months.
Yep, Evans vs. Silva now the main event. No opponent for Velasquez rumoured at this point. Might just postpone that one.
I'm really feeling the Rashad-Thiago fight but it could jut be me lol. How quickly can they turn the winner of Mir/Kongo into a bout with Velazquez?
They could cancel Gonzaga/Dos Santos and have Velasquez/Dos Santos at UFC 108 and Gonzaga/Nogueira at UFC 110... but I don't think they are going to change the Zag/Jr. fight.
I was thinking that initially but it seems a little late to cancel Dos Santos/Gonzaga. Plus I can't see Nog being very happy about going from a Velazquez fight in which the winner would likely get the next shot at the heavyweight champ to a Gonzaga fight. After beating Couture, Nog has zero to gain from a Gonzaga fight.
UFC 109 is getting to be a pretty nostalgic card, huh? Belfort, Coleman, Couture, Gracie(s), Hughes, Trigg...
