Where would you take him? This being that you knew what kind of player he would turn out to be. I would think he would go top 15 still. He is a very gifted player. He has good shotblocking skills, pretty good touch around the basket and an okay shot. He still is pretty raw but that is just from in-experience.Thoughts?
Darko has freakish arms but there's more college players in this draft which mean less potential more skills. I'd say he'd go top 15 but only after seeing what he can do with the Magic and also because this years draft is on the weaker side.
I think he would be a top 10 pick. You have to remember he is still pretty young. Only 20 years old. I would pick him if i had a pick somewhere from 5-10. Give him a whole summer and a full season of playing major minutes and i have no doubt that he'll be in the running for Most Improved Player.
the top 10 definitely, we still dont know what type of player he will become, every1 says hes a bust but this year is basically his rookie year. Id give him some more time and he'll become a good player.
I wouldnt say it's his rookie year he did get experience from two of the greatest big men in the league.
well its a big difference to get experience on the practice court compared to actual in game experience. he couldve easily spent those years playing in serbia and gaining experience there.
This is an interesting topic. Darko really doesn't show the drive to get better and seems to be more of a whiner than someone who goes out there and proves people wrong. I used to like him but now I don't. This is tough, he'd probably go in the late lottery.
How is he supposed to prove anyone wrong or show how good he is when he gets 5 minutes a game???? Also the draft picks of Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell proved that the Pistons thought he was chopped liver. Not playing a guy with that much talent is just wrong and stupid as well. I would have been pissed off as well. I'm sure he is very thankful to be getting some playing time in Orlando though.
His attitude sucks. Detroit got sick of him and his antics, minutes or no minutes players noticed the bitching more than the effort.

But you cant doubt the talent that he has, the guy gets a <Censored> load of blcks in a small amount of time.
You would <Censored> too if you were one of the best talents out there and you were picked 2nd overall and you played 30 games a season for 4 or 5 minutes.
I think he would go number seven. He is talented and is playing well for the Magic. But, if he played more his first two years he would be a man beast.

He'd go to a competator with a high draft pick. Kind of like how he went to Detroit. I find it hard to believe that Golden State, or someone like Philly would draft him.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ Apr 21 2006, 01:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Why would he go to a good team with a high pick again?</div>Because good teams with high picks can afford to invest in projects, since their present is secure, and an NBA ready player would only rot on the bench and get pissed.
