Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Well blow up to his own standars. But trust me, Phil has been ramping up his minutes so he can get better in the offense so he can go in and guard Nash. Mckie is a very good defensive player. He'll be getting like 20 minutes of playing time each game and be in the Worthy scouting report. :winkglasses:
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs McKie is a solid defender who is capable of running the point and hitting the outside jumper when necessary. He was a solid pick-up for the Lakers (although it pains me to see him in that uniform), and they brought him in for the playoffs.
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs I really miss him on the Sixers. He was great off the bench. I would like him to do well in the playoffs.
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Yes, in 2000-01, the year we went to the Finals... but unfortunately that was the last time he was really 100% for an entire season.
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Too bad McKie didn't play all season, he'd be a great addition then. Well atleats he's on for the playoffs. He's a great defender

Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs guys, this isn't the same McKie as the 6th man of the year in '01. He is ALOT slower and nearly ineffective. I mean, if he was good at all, wouldn't he have atleast played a little bit during the season?
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Obviously he isn't the same, but even last year in Philadelphia he was effective defensively in short spurts. He really doesn't need to score much because that is taken care of by Kobe, but he can hit the outside shot consistently.I remember reading all throughout the season that Phil Jackson was saving McKie for the playoffs, and that McKie was "injured" during the regular season. He'll probably get a few minutes here and there, but it just gives the Lakers another guy to throw out there if needed.
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Did I say great? Over-exaggeration, sorry. He definitely is solid though
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs Ya I guess Phil thought he needed one more game to rest huh? Mckie has never been "explosive" so I'm not expecting anything. I'm thinking his conditioning may be a little off based on the fact he has played about 122 minutes all season. Sorry just bringing some reality to the thread.
Re: Mckie will "blow up" in the playoffs He is a solid player who can contribute in short spurts, but he's not the kind of player who is going to have a huge impact on a series or change the entire complexion of the game.
