The obvious choice for Gomi would be to sign with Strikeforce which would allow him to fight for Dream or K-1 if he so chooses, but Gomi has shown some interest in the UFC in the past so we'll see what develops. Some think the 31-year old is washed up but the explosive striker could get on with an American fight camp and get his shit back together if he is dedicated. We've seen it before. Gomi is 4-2 since the fall of Pride. http://mmajunkie.com/news/16869/tak...ing-with-the-ufc-and-possibly-strikeforce.mma
It should be noted that Gomi has popped up here and there since the end of Pride and hasn't come close to signing. These Japanese stars are notoriously difficult to lure away from Japan and regularly use stateside interest just to generate hype.
Meh, with the relative failure of MOST ex-Pride fighters to varying degrees and near totaly failure of all japanese fighters who fight outside Japan, I'm not as interested as I once was in seeing Gomi fight for the UFC. I can totally see him spending his time on his back with ever half decent wrestler in the 155 division.
lol, nice one! anyway, if Gomi were to sign with the UFC, I don't think Gomi would make it to a title shot. if he were to sign with Strikeforce I think they have only 2 lightweights on their roster. Melendez and Thompson.
