Webster + Bayless + Pick to Houston for Battier [Trade-checker Approved] We NEED a dependable Small Forward. We need a solid veteran in the starting line-up. We need a defensive stopper - who can hit the outside 3, when open. And in keeping with what KP has done over the past three years: we need to continue adding great "character guys." Not a long-term fix, but good for this year and next year for sure, Battier fits the bill. And we need this sort of a trade NOW - especially with Batum, Outlaw and Pendergraph on the sidelines this year. Thoughts?
At the start of the season I would have placed my vote for a "banger" PF to come off the bench - to serve as a veteran "enforcer-type." But with the decimation of our SF core (Batum / Outlaw) and with Webster not playing up to his potential - - I think we NEED to bring in Battier. Will Houston part with him? Probably not. They do have some horses, and maybe Webs could benefit from new scenery? We know Bayless could!

Houston has been a trade partner in the past. No one "hates" us (well, maybe Memphis!) - so the question is "does Houston depend upon Battier like they used to?" The answer is "no, they don't." So what do we have that they could find value in? I heard you love Webster? Maybe you could phone Houston and convince them of Webster's upside - toss in Playless and a number one pick - and get us the SF we so desparately need! Funny....I read your post about the need for a SF - yet you offer up no suggestions as to who we might be able to grab? No point in belly-aching all the time - try throwing out an "idea" along with your complaining! Might open you to some debate: CAN YOU HANDLE IT HOMEY?
As much as I would love to have Battier on this team, I doubt we will be able to pry him away from Houston.
If I am Houston I am asking for Pryzbilla. They don't need Bayless. They need a C. So, it aint happening.
