fact: the niners hold the panthers 2010 #1st round pick. earlier this season it looked as if the niners would purge the nightmare of the 2008 draft which saw them give away thier 7th pick overall the previous year to the patriots, but alas the panthers are staging some sort of late season relevance, beating the falcons last week. that victory puts them at 4-5 for the season, the same record as the niners. 4-5 puts them tied for the 11th worst record in the league, meaning at least one top ten pick is not out of the question. wet dream: niners win the superbowl and get the #1 pick in the draft. more likely scenario: niners miss the playoffs going 8-8 and end up with the 15th pick or so. panthers finish 6-10 and the niners get thier pick at 8 or so. now off to mock draft sites to see who is projected to go around those picks so i can begin to prematurely rosterbate.
49ers Remaining Games @ Green Bay Jacksonville @ Seattle Arizona @Philly Detroit @ St. Louis Panthers Remaining Games Miami @New York Jets Tampa Bay @ New England Minnesota @ New York Giants New Orleans The Panthers have a brutal schedule to end the season. I can't see them winning more than 3 of those games which would result in 7-9 record, but more realistically 6-10 like you mentioned. Hopefully they lose them all and finish 4-12! The 49ers are still in the playoff hunt after beating Chicago this week. This is a huge game against the Packers this weekend and probably determines the fate of their season.
heres hoping for 5-11 but 6-10 / 7-9 is most likely. that puts us around 10 right now, some good players there, i like bpa.
I'm excited for the Packers/49ners game. Im praying the game is on TV for me though. The Bears don't play untill late, so theres one team out of the way. Go Packers.
