http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/atheist_ads_on_trimet_tells_co.html About time the Atheist around here started to get active!
if you look at the pic on their site... looks liek its not just Portland Atheists http://unitedcor.org/
Why not "supernatural entities" are a sham? Plenty of religions don't worship a "God". The agenda is obvious, and it is just as divisive as what many religions do.
Not really. One groups goal is letting you know it is ok to not be religious. The other groups main goals tend to try and make you feel like an outcast if you aren't religious.
agreed (surprisingly). Besides, nobody is going to be convinced by an ad on the side of a bus, especially Portlanders. Waste of time and especially money. Why not give a donation of new science textbooks/equipment to public schools instead?
i don't know, atheists think everyone is going to have the same "After-life." There is no condemning the non-believers.
you mean "believers" like to pretend valid criticism of their belief is personal insult as a way to avoid dealing with it.
generally the point of these ads is not to convert true theists. it's to get the message out that there's nothing wrong with being an atheist. the target audience is people who are already leaning that way.
