At least we're getting out of the gates well. We seem to be a much better first quarter team this year.

Holy f-ing shit! This is the perfect time for a meltdown! That sucked! Take a great game, then in the 4th quarter play like complete losers and make your fans feel like they're wasting their time watching you for quarters 1-3.

Everytime the blazers do this they say the SAME BULLCRAP. "we learned a lesson.."

BULL CRAP! You didn't learn no fucking lesson because you keep doing it you fucking moron mother fucking loser pieces of shit!

From now on, I will only watch the 4th quarter, because no lead is safe with these bums! If we could play the 4th like we played 1-3, we'd be 12-2 right now.

Dallas having a great season so far. West is going to be very competitive.

Almost everything went wrong in the fourth quarter (no calls, the Pistons hitting a lot of shots, Portland missing some FTs they will normally hit) and yet... we won. We severely outplayed them for three quarters and then again at the very end of the game.

No reason to melt down for fans as far as I'm concerned.

Impossible to be 12-2 after only 13 games, but we would be 11-2 if Andre Miller didn't choke two layups and Oden didn't choke two free throws. 12-1 if Blake didn't choke two threes.

Blake has been playing poorly all season long thus far, and overall he seems to consistently be one of the worst players in the Blazers playing rotation.

He's hit 4 game winners in the last two and a half seasons and several "put the game away" shots. Ask Atlanta fans how glad they were that Travis didn't play the last game.

So? He's done nothing this season, which is what we're talking about. Besides, he's only been injured for 2 games.

Well one is a young 21 year old that is expected to make mistakes to a degree, while the other is a vet and is expect not to make a lot of mistakes.

Thank you for proving my point. Deleted. Tell everybody again how good Sergio is... You have proven that you don't know anything.

Blowing a 20 point lead at home to the Pistons is cause for a meltdown. The Blazers keep doing this! It doesn't matter if you build a lead for 3 quarters and flush all that effort down the toilet in the 4th. Now I'm listening to Nate and the guys talk about how this "is a lesson"...how many times do they need this "lesson" before they stop doing it?

I think some fans around here don't realize how close the team had to having a meltdown of epic proportions. We nearly dropped our 3rd home loss of the young season, all 3 coming from 4th quarter CHOKING. This fuckers are a bunch of choke artists, that's all they are.

If they win, what is the danger of not learning the "lesson"?

That they might not win by double digits next time?

That they might occasionally lose a game at home?

    Shocking stuff, indeed.

Not true. He has some very big shots in the 4th quarter this season. He has also created easy baskets on steals and putbacks. He had a game where he scored 19 points in 19 minutes. And we wouldn't have won the first game of the season without his efficient 23 points.

Clutch stats don't lie. To be fair, the rest of the team hasn't been great either, but Outlaw hasn't been special and his presence certainly wouldn't be as great as you are making it out to be.

We keep collapsing in the 4th quarter, but no big deal in Ed O's twisted world?

Hey, it's just a game. But if you care about the Blazers becoming a contender, you have to be kinda pissed about how they keep choking in the 4th.

Here's the thing I find troubling about the last few games.

The team plays one style of ball for 40 minutes. They are aggressive. The look to push the ball. They attack the rim.

For the last 8 when they are ahead it's like they are playing not to loose. Holding the ball until the shot clock goes down to 8 seconds. Not taking scoring opportunities even when they are obvious. Waiting for so long in the clock to start the play allows the defense to set which in turn causes costly turnovers.

It looks like the basketball equivalent of the prevent defense.

I don't know why this is happening.

    It could be Nate.

It could be energy level and intensity.

It could be fatigue from guys playing so far out of position for most of the game.

    I don't know.

It does seem like Nate is calling more plays at the end of games. If that is the case, he seriously needs to rethink this strategy.

We won tonight because the Pistons suck ass.

Had this been a western conference contender Portland would have lost.

It isn't time to panic but the trend just doesn't look good.

They outplayed Detroit handily for 40 minutes.

This choking up at the end of games will pass as the team gains confidence.

As the team continues to gel, the guys will start believing in how good they are. Then they'll get steadily better for a couple of years.

This team is winning, without their starting SF and without their biggest offensive punch off the bench.

A win is a win. I truly don't get why people are having a hissy fit, again, after another win.

    Go Blazers
