That's the thing. They're never going to be healthy again. Duncan has arthritic knees and Ginobili has played too much international ball over the years.

And yes, they're slow starters. But this is worst 10 game start they've had in the last 10 years.

The way I see it, it's kind of like Roy. You have to admit, Roy has a different relationship with Nate than any of the other players. The reason Roy has a different relationship with Nate than all of the other players, is because Roy was from day 1, a better player than Nate McMillan was during his whole career. The same thing occurs with Paul. I could see him having a relationship with Nate like Roy does. They talk things over sometimes, but otherwise, he lets Roy be Roy. He would let Paul be Paul too.

You think Roy has a different relationship with Nate than others because Roy is a better player than Nate. That is one wierd theory . . .

the difference in pop doing what he does and the reaction if nate pulled the same moves is that pop has the rings to back it up. SA is still a threat and seeing as they do this most seasons i wouldn't count them out until they are offically eliminated from the playoffs.

The whole San Antonio situation reminds me of the Jazz team the later part of the 90's. The core piece there, Tim Duncan, is getting old. The spurs go as far as he takes them. And I just think he's done. There is no way that he is going to go into a series versus the lakers, blazers and maybe even in the Suns and have the same kind of success that he had four years ago. The frontlines are too young, too athletic and too good for that old man to have that kind of success.

    The Spurs are done.

The Spurs are a threat. They won't actually start playing hard until Feb.

    And then look out.

I think the real wrench thrown into the western conference race this year isn't what is the known factor. It is the unknown factor, like Dallas improving. Shawn Marion was a very nice pickup for that team, he fits well, and doesn't need shots. IMO they will be a bigger threat than San Antonio by years end because of the injury bug seems to have San Antonio's number. If you look at the patterns last year was the first time since 2001-2002 that San Antonio had not made a visit to the finals at least every other year. To me that shows "The cycle is broken".
