Have we been showcasing Miller? (and not doing a very good job of it?)

I usually hate it when people suspect that a player is being showcased but I'm starting to think that might be the case here. Our chemistry has been a mess from Day 1 but it was temporarily masked by playing the T-Wolves & Grizzlies. I think KP/Nate want to trade Miller after Dec 15th but KP knows we can't get anything for him if we don't show the league that he can still play. But Nate refuses to bench Blake so he starts them both. I think the sooner Miller is traded, the better. Roy plays really well at SG alongside Blake. Roy was ready to blossom into a 25-28 ppg scorer this season but then we took the ball out of his hands and played him out of position. I say send Miller packing.

KP make a mid-season trade? Unlikely.

Given KP's history with the team, unlikely is putting it mildly.

How about there is a zero percent chance KP will make a significant move during the season.

In reference to the OP, I think Roy's difficulties lay more with him playing out of position then it does either Blake or Miller.

He isn't a small forward and he is playing like he isn't a small forward.

It is completely predictable that Roy would struggle like he has.

Before joining us, wasn't Andre Miller considered one of the better veteran points in the league?

So he comes into our regime, and then. . .?
Seems that's quite revealing really. (Channing Fryes' miraculous recovery?)

I want to see some actual facts to show that Miller is dominating the ball.

This thought has crossed my mind more than once or twice ... I think the gut level reaction is to look at the Miller-Roy pairing and lament how they aren't meshing, and then I stop myself and think how the hell is that other wings in the league who like to handle the ball have been able to play with Miller just fine (Melo and Iguodala specifically). I think at least part of the issue may be that Nate tries to make his players fit into a system instead of crafting a system to fit his players ... Miller's inability to hit an outside shot doesn't help though, and a slow down half-court offense where he ends up in the corner ballside makes him look very very pedestrian.

    Andre Miller's USG% is 22.1%. By contrast, Roy's USG% is 25.4%, 2% down from last year. Blake's USG% is 15.3%, also 2% down from last year.

Both Melo and Iguodala play well off the ball.

I suppose, also both of those guys are on teams that like to push tempo more than Nate. Maybe Roy can't play uptempo and if so it's time to cut bait and trade Miller. The biggest mistake as a GM, would be for KP to compound an error by refusing to acknowledge it, but clearly Miller is not going to be allowed to play his game here and just as clearly Roy has developed almost no off-the-ball skills in four years.

Three mandates for KP seem to be forming. Get an actual backup small forward, get a ball-hawking point guard who likes to shoot the long ball and find a backup power forward (maybe that's Joel Freeland). Unfortunately, who do we have that either we'd be willing to give up or that another team would even want?
