Just wanted to make sure you knew. It sure sucks that the season only is a couple of weeks long. They should make it 82 games or something.
Who said the sky is falling? Many people in here are just realizing that the "experts" that had Portland as a top 5 team in the league before the season started were wrong. They aren't that good. We had hoped for me, but it is what it is.
before the season the team had Batum and Outlaw who figured to play about 20% of the team's available minutes. I doubt that the experts would have placed Portland in the top 5 knowing that those two would be out for the season... I certainly wouldn't have predicted 60+ wins STOMP
Great song I've seen Thrice twice this year. oh wait
The sky may not be falling, but the foundation feels a little wobbly. This team has some fairly obvious and glaring flaws. The Miller-MacMillan marriage has been a disaster (what good is having a veteran up tempo point guard if you are going call in all the plays from the sideline?), the Miller-Roy pairing hasn't done much good either since the team seems like it's stuck between two styles of play and thus has no identity on offense, LMA has looked increasingly marginalized and passive, none of our shooters (outside of Rudy) can seem to hit a shot, the lane is clogged, spacing has been terrible and nobody looks like they are having much fun playing the game ... Oh, and we basically have no small forward to speak of on this team. Is all of this broken beyond repair? Certainly not, but between Nate's stubbornness, KP's passiveness, and some pretty big holes on this roster it sure does seem to have the feeling that this could be a much longer season than I anticipated. That's not being chicken little to point it out.
There is some merit to that. But the Lakers have been without Gasol for all but 1 game, and Bynum missed a couple of games as well. Hasn't seemed to hurt them too much. Dallas has been w/o Howard, and they are playing well. Injuries are part of the game. Besides, we aren't talking about Roy or Lamarcus being hurt.
It amazes me that people actually think that criticism of the team, means that fans think all is lost. This is a very important season to all those that want more than just a playoff birth. I would like us to make progress and get past the first round of the playoffs. It's not like we think that PDX is not going to make the playoffs. It's just some of the play calling, subs, and player usage are suspect for a team that wants to make a run IN THE PLAYOFFS. We are tired of only talking about the reg season. Time to talk about what ring size Oden, Aldridge and Roy are when they size up the rings.
top nine but look at our wins all agiant crap teams a ok to good team we lose..... what is with pulling oden then sitting him for that long?
Obviously there are some people who are habitual line-steppers, but I'm tired of some fans freaking out over some negative posts. The team is not playing well. Period. I think we have a legitimate reason for feeling the way we do.
