I enjoyed reading this. The Knicks are not the greatest brain trust and they are struggling worse than the Warriors, but I think they will end up surpassing the Warriors and it's not just because they got money (albeit the money helps). Now, they have some smarts and are keeping their emotions and egos in check. We'll have to see how long it lasts .

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP)—The New York Knicks won’t sign Allen Iverson (notes), believing any short-term gain would hinder their plans to build for the future.

Team president Donnie Walsh said Friday the team won’t make any additions at this time despite its 2-9 record. He added the decision to pass on the former MVP had nothing to do with Iverson’s ability to play or his character in the locker room.

I saw that this morning and I did like how he said he thought Iverson taking so many shots would hinder his young players from developing. What a concept. Now, with Jackson gone, the Warriors are starting to find out now what the value of a shot truly is. Even with Monta shooting a sub-par percentage this year, the way I look at it, I'd still rather have Monta taking 20 shots at 45% than Jackson taking 20 shots at 41%. Now if we can just move Maggette, the odds become even better, although I must admit even Maggette's game hasn't been quite as offensive to me since the Jackson trade.

Agreed on all points. Maggette's been very tolerable, if not, actually pretty darn good. Shocking.

Word. Monta handling the ball a majority of the time has not been a bad thing at all since Jack has been gone. His FG% is likely to stay in the 45% area if hes gonna be the man but he gets to the rim a lot more than Jack and hes passing very nicely.

He locked Roy up yesterday AND carried the load on offense. Hopefully he keeps it up.

With Monta at PG, he's more of a shoot first, pass second PG. But he's less of a shoot first than Jackson because he can drive and dish. In other words, Monta doesn't just jack up a shot, so that's refreshing to see. I suppose he's a better fit with Nelson's system than a Stephen Curry who's more of a distributor and would do better in a pick and roll type team.
