With Miller very possibly not working in POR and Conley apparently in disfavor again in Mem, they need a vet PG. Hunter is an expiring, we get Conley relatively cheap and give him a try as he might be a good fit and there is the Oden connection. I believe we have to wait for Dec. 15.

Only if we ship out Blake, too. Otherwise why bother.

Uh lets see about "why bother", we ultimately need an upgrade to Blake and long term answer at PG, Conley has "potential" there. We need a good backup to Blake for now if Miller goes. Conley and Bayless battle it out and don't forget Blakey is a FA this summer. Many reasons to "bother".

If we're trading Miller, I'd look at Washington first. They need a PG to go along with Arenas in the backcourt, and Miller would be a decent fit there.

Plus, with Mike Miller playing well, them can afford to lose Butler who is having a down season so far.

Miller + Outlaw for Butler might be something to consider.

I like Conley better than Butler actually. Conley is playing bad this year, but he shot 40% from three last year, only commands a 17% usage rate, and has undeniable chemistry with Greg Oden. He wouldn't start automatically, but eventually he'd be able to beat out Blake, if not this season, the next when Blake is gone.

No point in trading for a PG as long as Blake is on the team, as bad as that sounds.

That works for me too, the only concern I'd have is Bayless being the PG backup?

    Why the question mark?

He needs time to develop. I want him to get those backup minutes.

The team should just trade Bayless now.

After seeing how Miller and Roy work together, no point in keeping Bayless.

I think I've come to the conclusion that Mike Conley just isn't very good. Unless he is doing this on purpose so he does get moved.

Keep in mind when he finally got solid and continuous playing tiemelast yr he started playing well. Then they bring in Iverson and it fouls everything up, its a chance sure, but a good one IMO.

Allen Iverson has't been attentdance since game three. Conley has started all the rest of the games. He hasn't been very good. From a scoring or distribution standpoint. Not sure about his defense but I'm assuming that suffers as well.

I was basically saying I wouldn't like his chances of getting on the court, if Miller, a 10 year vet PG has difficulty taking away the strating spot from Blake.

I like Conley as our future PG next to Roy, and of course I would do this deal in a heartbeat. Would never happen unfortunately.

I would do probably any of the trades in this thread in a heartbeat. To get Conley we would probably need to absorb Jaric as well. That would get Memphis to do it as much as sweetening the pot on our end would. Caron is also a very viable target in my opinion.

Sorry Papag, no tape to back up that statement. It's all hot air I'm spewing, nothing grounded in classical Newtonian physics like your dissertations.

I think there is a much better chance that Bayless will develop a nice 3P shot, a lot more than Miller would, at this point in his career.

Bayless should end up developing far better range than Miller ever did, and he's a superior defender of PGs.

I don't think Roy and Miller being unable to play together (assuming that's the case; I think it's still WAY too early to know for sure) reflects on a potential Roy/Bayless matchup.

Conley ain't exactly lighting it up now.

Seems like a rather lateral trade. Oh wait, I remember, Conley and Greg are best buds and he's the one guy who's who could help Greg dominate.
