some food for thought... http://www.heavy.com/post/here-comes-the-money-who-is-shane-mcmahon-and-how-can-he-help-the-ufc-1805
If the UFC wants to continue to grow, this may actually be a good move on their part hiring a guy who has had enourmous success expanding a brand like the WWE into commercial retail and into foreign markets. I know that Dana and the Ferttita's wanna keep it as their company, but this may be worth the sacrifice of selling a minority interest off.
No need to fear Shane-O-Mac. The guy is experienced. He knows the difference between the WWE and the UFC--and the similarities.
I agree, but the issue is once again Dana and the brothers letting go of some control. Just like they don't want CBS or any other potential network partner using their own announcers instead of Goldy and Rogan, they don't want to sell partial ownership of their little baby.. of course if they're in deep trouble with their casino's, they may have no choice.
