Isn't there a rule against hanging on the rim, or pulling yourself up with the rim, unless they are looking for a safe landing in traffic? Am I missing something, or does Greg get away with this surprisingly often? Maybe I missed a rule change? I love that he's getting to do it, for whatever the reason, because it seems to get Greg psyched. Go Blazers
You can definitely get T'd up by doing a pull up on the rim. Greg just kind of pulls his legs up and that must be OK. I think it's generally when you see the player pull his chin up over the rim.
Shaq used to do it all the time, too. I think the distinction is whether you actually pull yourself up (or hang) in a separate motion from the dunk itself. If it's all in one motion, they generally let it go.
Greg always used to slap the backboard with both hands at OSU after he did the leg thing on his dunks, I remember thinking if he does that in the NBA he's gonna get a lot of unintentional T's. Luckily he only does that every once and a while now and the refs seem to let it slide.
It's a giant conspiracy by David Stern to create a star out of Greg Oden! but in all honesty, every time I see it I halfway expect him to get T'd...
Are you seriously complaining about Greg hanging on the rim? This almost is the last straw for me lol this forum is getting ridiculous. I am so sick and tired of hearing\reading negativity about our Blazers. Next, someone will say Gregs shoes weren't tied tight enough.
Sick of hearing or reading negativity about our Blazers says the man who a week and a half ago had a large Fire Nate sig and avatar. Yep.
He would get T'd up vs. the Lakers in the playoffs. I guarantee a minimum of one tech for that exact same move in a game or series that mattered.
