I don't think the Clipper games count.

But yeah we'll have a lot of road games coming up. Not too worried though because our record on the road is always one of the best in the league. Hopefully by then the roster will have gelled.

    I hate it.

I know we're good on the road, but I'd rather it be more evenly distributed.

From my understanding, it's because of all the other events that go on there later in the season, so they have to have a huge chunk of the home games scheduled early to accommodate for this.

I really don't care one way or the other though. We're a great road team and a veteran team as well, so it's not going to affect us the way that it might other, younger teams.

The Pac-10 Tournament is played annually at STAPLES Center, so the Lakers cannot play any home games during that period. They always have a long road trip around that time, so they need to play a lot of home games in the beginning of the season. Then, as someone else said, the Grammys are at STAPLES in late January. It mostly has to do with the fact that a lot of other big events are scheduled at STAPLES, so the Lakers have to work around that schedule.

They actually enjoyed their road trip last season because it helped the team bond. The Lakers went 6-0 on their long road trip last season including wins at Boston and at Cleveland.

Yeah we always seem to have this uneven distribution of home games due to tournaments/etc.

This year maybe it helps? It gave our team a little break to find our bearings while we tried figuring out how to play without Pau.
