I thought Blake was pretty good about getting Greg the ball against the Bulls. Seems like Brandon got him the ball a couple of times, too. Maybe with Greg getting confident, (and less butter-fingered), Brandon and Steve will make passing to Greg more of a priority.

The last couple games have been great, but I'm just saying historically the team has ignored him. Miller has made the biggest effort to get him the ball consistently.

I would love to see this as our starting lineup. Rudy could guard the opposing point guard...

    Roy
    Rudy
    Webster
    LMA
    Oden

In the last game against Minnesota, Oden hit 7 shots. FOUR of them were on assists from Blake setting Oden up for wide open dunks. And that doesn't include the MANY times Oden got he ball to Oden, often two or three times in the same possession. Andre Miller had ZERO assists to Oden. I'm glad that Miller and Oden are getting along but the idea that Blake doesn't get the ball to Oden is pure bullshit. If you think that Blake doesn't get the ball to Oden then you are not watching the games closely.

Thank you! Blake's ability to get easy buckets for Oden makes Miller expendable.

That point guard's name is Steve Blake. The numbers don't lie.

Exactly. That's 6 assists. Oden made 7 baskets in that game. The other assist was from Juwan Howard. So where are Miller's assists to Oden?? They don't exist.

How about last night against Chicago? One assist from Miller to Oden.

So to be clear... Miller had just ONE assist to Oden in the last two games combined.

    Blake:

    1) Sets up Oden for easy baskets
    2) Spreads the floor with his outside shooting
    3) Has good chemistry with Brandon Roy

It's a NO BRAINER. Steve Blake should be starting. Miller can get to the free throw line, YES, but SO CAN BAYLESS.

Trade Miller. Move Bayless into the backup minutes. We're better off in the short term and the long run.

I'll continue to root for Miller as long as he's a Blazer but I don't think he should be starting over Blake.

The stats say otherwise, but whatever. Stick to your theme.

I already did that play-by-play assist total from last night. It fell upon deaf ears then as well.

Well the assists aren;t the tell all and you know it King. I've seen 4 times when Greg went to the line, from very nice feeds in the paint. And you know those passes aren't counted as assists. So you can discredit Miller all you want, just like you have with Oden. I've been watching Miller closely, to see if he's a fit for this team (I am a naysayer regarding him) and he made a ton of people playing with him better.

It's not just assists. There are many times that Blake gets the ball to Oden, often multiple times on the same possession, where Oden doesn't end up scoring.

I've not said that Miller isn't making people better. He's a veteran PG. He better be making someone better. BUT- the assertion that Blake doesn't get the ball to Oden is bullshit.

P.S. Blake gets the ball to Oden in situations in which he only gets free throws too. It's not just Miller.

I have no problem with Blake, just clearing this out that Miller ain't no chop liver like I've been reading from you all the time. And the banter about Oden when he has bad games. Its like Blake does no wrong and you damn all that screw him.

Blake is fine as a starter. He fits well with Roy, Aldridge and Oden. And Miller is great coming off the bench creating something.

Why would you want to get rid of Miller? That's foolishness. He was brought in to provide veteran leadership and the first thing he does is light a fire under Oden.. Exactly what this team was lacking. Bayless would be better served playing under Miller for 2 years anyway. It already sounds good long term and short term.

Blakey is great. But my hope is that Miller can mesh well enough with the starters to play down the stretch. I just don't want Blake in there during crunch time.

Why? Blake has shown that he can hit big threes in crunch time (with the exception of the Atlanta game) and he spreads the floor so that Oden and Roy can do their work in the paint. I certainly don't want Andre Miller getting the ball outside the three point line with the shot clock running down in an important game.

Eric, he's shooting 37% from the field this season. That's pretty bad for a starting point guard who claims to be a decent shooter.

Miller is shooting 40%, which I find funny considering so many people claim he's a terrible shooter. He's actually down 5% from his career average.

They are both shooting sub-par this year. By TS% Blake is just a hair better than Miller (8th on the team, vs. 9th). The biggest problem is that these 2 guys shoot #3 (in the number of shots taken) on the team (Miller) and #4 (Blake). Too many shots for these guys, not enough shots for Roy, LMA, Rudy and Greg.
