    Good point!!! Watching the national anthem later, on YouTube, is just the same as standing at attention for it during the game! Maybe the whole team should stay in the locker room during the national anthem and watch it later on YouTube!! And maybe everyone in the stands should tell jokes and eat popcorn. Maybe Paul Allen should stand on court and do a juggling act, and the cheerleaders should be running around doing backflips, and the ball boys should be shooting hoops at each end of the court!

    Yeah, that's the ticket. That would be the ultimate in respect for our national anthem!!!

    Why is Brandon held to a higher standard than fans are, who are in the concourse? Or the camera crew who keep filming or walking around?

    This fabricated outrage is pointless. It's not a law that you have to do it, nor does it mean it's disrespect if you don't do it in the same manner you do it.

    Your way is not the only way to show respect or honor the flag/country.

    I think that every TV game should play the Anthem, and it should be mandatory to get the whole family in front of the TV and stand at attention. Anyone who does not should be be locked up in the Gulag.

    My God, this is what passes for logic around here? I feel like I'm dealing with a five-year-old.

    People "on stage" are always held to a higher standard than those in the audience. If you go to an Obama speech, you can walk out anytime you want to take a piss. Obama, on the other hand, can't suddenly stop his speech to go take a piss.

    I suppose the guys filming the performance of the national anthem could put their cameras down and stand at attention, too, but then millions of people watching the game wouldn't get to see what was happening on the court.

    Surely, you're not serious about any of this. You're just being stupid to pass the time, right?

    Do I need to post the pot calling the kettle black picture again? Because I think most people here have caught onto your gimmick, and at this point mock you more than even try to participate in a conversation with you.

    Plus, you didn't answer my question about why Brandon is held to a higher standard than anyone else, but instead brought up something that had no connection to what I was talking about.

    Brandon Roy is not the President of the United States, and obviously 10 seconds before the thread was created you had NO idea this was happening. So, again, why is it important now?

    This isn't like Brandon is killing people, raping babies, doing illegal drugs, crapping on a bible, being a traitor, or about 90 million other things far worse than not standing with his teammates during the NA.

    Now you are trying to regulate when he can pray?!?!? Is it okay if he prays during the national anthem, but stands for the national anthem and just doesn't pay attention?

    By the way: Santa >>> God. At least when I asked Santa for stuff, I got it 60 to 70% of the time. God was only able to deliver at a clip of about 40%. Santa's PER is like 25. God's had a much longer career, his PER sucks, but God seems to have a great +/-! :devilwink:

    Besides, don't most broadcasts go to commercial during the anthem? Perhaps we'd better question the patriotism of the broadcasters.
