Yeah, word is that Augmon had gang ties - but that's true of lots of players from rough neighborhoods in inner cities (LA especially). He also said some pretty rude things to reporters over the years (check his wiki page), but when it came to playing hard, doing his job, and keeping his trap shut, he held up his end with the Blazers, and did so better than Dale Davis, if you ask me.
