I suspect these guys will all go for the same price or less, and they're all still FAs. 1. CJ Watson 2. Flip Murray 3. Marquis Daniels 4. Tarance Kinsey 5. Shannon Brown 6. Von Wafer 7. Quinton Ross 8. Keith Bogans 9. Rodney Carney 10. Rashad McCants 11. Carlos Delfino 12. Ime Udoka 13. Morris Almond
Where are they now? Brown got 2 years at 2M from Lakers. According to league sources, Delfino agreed to a three-year contract with the Bucks that will pay him $3.5 million per season. But the deal is of the low-risk variety because it is partially guaranteed for the second season and not guaranteed in the third season. CJ Watson is an RFA that so far has turned down 3 years and 4.5M with GSW. Marquis Daniels basically got the same deal (i think) as Pargo but with the Celts.
Flip Murray is a going to be a sweet piece at the price he will end up signing for. I'd even go so far to say that Flip is a hellva a lot closer to Gordon than Pargo is to Flip.
Bump. Doug Thonus thinks if Hinrich is out we ought to consider AI. I don't think they can or should try Iverson. This team might suck, but there's no reason to throw a lit match on a tank of gas. The bigger issue, as I see it, is that this team continues to make poor personnel choices from top to bottom. That's what I was getting at in this thread. People trivialize end of the bench signings, but add it up and we're spending close to $4M on three guys who, frankly, we're in trouble if they ever take the court. Hunter, Gray, and Pargo. The Bulls could have signed up three guys for the league min, had an extra $1.5M in contingency, and gotten potentially better output. Hunter Alternatives: Carlos Arroyo, Kevin Ollie, Gray Alternatives: Brian Skinner, DJ Mbenga, either of the Collins twins, Jamaal Magloire, Joe Smith, Primoz Brezec, Shelden williams, Ike Diogu, Rasho Nesterovic Pargo Alternatives: Besides guys I mentioned earlier, there were Sasha Pavlovic and James Singleton that signed one year min deals. Basically, you gotta get the best you can whenever you can, from top to bottom.
Most of those guys reupped with or moved to contenders, so there's no way they'd go to the bulls for the minimum. And some of those guys aren't better than Gray or Hunter. Magliore? Joe Smith is a mercenary, who did his tour with the bulls.
