5-0. In the past week they beat Oregon, UCLA, and #16 Minnesota. I know this is a down year for UCLA, but 74-47? Are you kidding me? Then they come out last night and beat the #16 team in the country in a game where they shot 39% and turned it over 19 times! They outrebounded a physical Minnesota team 39-28, not something you would expect. If they beat #8 West Virginia you have to think they'd move into the top 20, don't you? Maybe even if they lose a close game they get in. Are they for real? I haven't seen them play. I'll be watching the West Virginia game for sure. Is it smoke and mirrors? I'm not really sure how a 6'4" Shooting guard (Raivio) could be leading the team with 8.4 Rebs/game. Who is this T.J. Campbell? He shot 53% on 3's last year and this year 56%? How good are these guys?
I thought this was about the Pilots soccer program. It is a crazy concept for a little school to compete with the big schools no matter what the sport and both the men's and woman's soccer teams are alive in the playoffs playing against big schools (10Xs their size?). But for the Pilots to beat UCLA in men's basketball . . . that is just insane. I would have thought some of the intermural teams at UCLA could compete with the likes of UoP . . . apparently not.
i have season tickets and have gone the last couple of years. GET OUT TO THE CHILES CENTER!!! these guys are for real and are really fun to watch.
