Honestly I'm shocked it's at 60/40 for at this point; that's surprisingly better than I anticipated. Let's be real here though, when a team doesn't look like it knows what it's doing 20 games into a season it's probably natural to start looking at the guy who supposedly gets them ready to play in games. For me, I tend to look at KP as a culprit nearly as much for failing to go ahead and fill out his roster with defensive minded players and/or consolidate some of these guys who need development time for veteran role-players or positional players who would typically know how to fit in with a minimal amount of fuss -- This is stuff I feared might happen after no trades were made in June and July, unfortunately it appears I may have actually been right.
I'd watch for the comedy. He'd probably forget people were sitting on the bench after awhile and forget to sub back in his starters.
I mute games sometimes because Mike Rice is such an idiot. I don't know how he still has a job. "Oh shhherrr"
Well, some of you might be getting your wish... http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/11/utah_108_portland_92_another_d.html I still don't know what to think, but that bolded part...I didn't see that coming. I thought Roy and Nate were close.
Ah. You mean when the Bulls fired Doug Collins and promoted Phil Jackson to head coach of a young Bulls team with Jordan, Pippen and Grant...which proceeded to become a powerhouse, rather than exciting, talented also-ran? I'm not sure I agree that firing McMillan will be that productive, but it might be. Just as Collins was considered to be handling the talent on hand non-optimally, I think the same is true of McMillan. Good example!
I was joking but a fishing trip 3 days on the deschutes would give the guys some quality get to know each other time.
"This season, with Oden becoming a formidable and effective option, the offense more often revolves around entry passes to Oden." Yeah right. Oden is 8th on the team in FGA/36 min. The team does a better job getting shots for Dante Cunningham than they do for Greg Oden. BNM
What's more important right now is for these little boys to quit gossiping and talking to the media and going out and play like men. It's now or never. It's time to start working and selling out on both ends of the court.
Oden has demonstrated a variety of low post moves other than lay-ups/dunks - WHEN his teammates get him the ball. The problem is Steve Blake cannot make an entry pass to save his life and Nate AUTOMATICALLY yanks Oden at the 6 minute mark NO MATTER WHAT, which means Oden goes most of the first half either on the bench or playing with a point guard who can't/won't get him the ball. BNM
i think that if and i mean if nate gets fired! monty would get the interm coach job not saying thats not something already known but just my opinion.... i just totally forgot how much the players liked monty and i bet you if he learned anything from pop..... its that miller is better than blake!
I am not quite ready to vote yes, but if Nate were fired, I could get behind that decision too. I would like to see a little more time for Nate to prove/disprove himself. Nate does some things very well, but his in-game coaching is really looking sub-par. And with Allen being sick, I am not too sure if he will take the initiative to fire Nate even if it does become sorely apparent that it is needed.
Oden plays best when Rudy's on the floor with him. Rudy is the best player on the team at feeding entry passes.
