Opening kickoff he tries an onside kick against a shitty Redskins offense. They recover on the 25 and immediately score a touchdown. I can't believe we won the game but what a fucking moron.
Man don't worry you have a solid team brah. Very nice group of young players, Mac should be around for a while, even Kolb is decent. DeSean Jackson is explosive. :O
I worry about your team. One week they look fucking elite and then they look so inconsistent (sounds like how the Chargers go from .500 - elite as the season progresses). The thing with you guys is that you switch back and forth throughout the season.
How old is McNabb? Is he going to be around for this foundation in their prime? Or will they have to work in Kolb (who is capable) in there?
Well I assume at QB he can play to like 37-39? He's got pretty great pocket skills but he has to avoid the scrambling in order to play a whole season. That's what wears out all these players.
Arm strength and mobility are the things that leave a QB as they age. In their West Coast offense, diminished arm strength won't be that hard to overcome and McNabb stopped depending on his scrambling ability years ago. I think he'll be productive leading that offense for a quite a few more seasons. And if they can develop Kolb like the Packers developed Rodgers, they should continue to be set at that position.
McNabb is part of the reason why the offense is so inconsistent. He is inconsistent and really frustrating to watch at times, but he still gives us the best chance to win. I like Donovan, but he has one year left on his contract after this year, same with Kevin Kolb. Nobody knows what's going to happen, but the general consensus is that a decision will have to be made within the next year or two as to whether or not we should keep Donovan or look elsewhere. My guess is that if Reid is somehow fired (whupee) McNabb will be let go as well. And once again we struggle in the redzone. In the first half we got within the 10 yard line twice only to come up with field goals. I don't know if that's McNabb's fault, because he can't throw right, or if it's Reid's fault, because he always insists on passing 1st, 2nd, 3rd down whenever we're close to scoring, even though the running game was successful today, and Fat Albert was out. My guess is that we should blame Fatass Reid. Our struggles in the redzone have been going on for years now, so it's not like it's a new issue, so I'm pretty positive Reid and McNabb are the main culprits, although I blame Reid a lot more because he's a moron. Some positives from the game? Asante Samuel pisses me off at times as well, but he's a ballhawk. He is the interception king! Shady McCoy with another fabulous performance, and the WR corpse wasn't too bad... Nice to see Avant getting more touches these last couple of weeks. He is a big weapon for us. Desean got a concussion though, so I hope for the best. Hopefully he's okay.
He's pretty much turned into a pocket passer. He doesn't rely on his scrambling ability much anymore and rarely relies on his athleticism at all. I'm not as much worried about his declining skills as I am about his health. He's pretty injury prone, and health is my biggest concern. That being said, I do believe he can continue to play at this level for a few more seasons. Could be sort of like Steve McNair when it's all said and done. McNair wasn't too bad for the Ravens his first season, when he was healthy. It still remains to be seen where the management stands on McNabb's future though. If there's one thing the organization has showed me, it's that they have no loyalty to their players what so ever. If they showed Dawkins the door they won't think twice before telling Donovan to take a hike.
Oh btw, if you guys didn't believe me about the onside kick here's proof: typical Reid, thinking he can outsmart everybody
lol i know a dude that's an eagles fan and says that andy reid is one of the best coaches in the league.
Tell me why he's a bad coach so I could own him haha. He used to post on OTR, and he would complain to me and be all like, "the eagles fans there are idiots. they think akers is a bad kicker and reid is a bad coach."
- He has never figured out how to run a 2 minute drill - He passes the ball like 90% of the time, even during days when Donovan sucks and the running game is killing it, he will refuse to run the ball - His playcalling at times is horrendous - I will always remember the one game, Winston Justice's 1st start as a rookie, he was getting killed and gave up like 50 sacks but Reid REFUSED to give him any help - He wastes timeouts - He pretty much has the same excuses after every single loss for the past 10 years. "I need to put my players in a better position to succeed." - He is stubborn as hell. Refuses to run the ball. Refuses to get Donovan any help at WR until we lose three times in a row in the NFC Championship game. Refused to get help in special teams two seasons ago until KR started to cost us games. - He's a fatass - Doesn't know what to do in the redzone, which is why we always end up with FGs - Tries to be cute and outsmart everyone only for it to backfire (onside kick, how he uses Vick) - Doesn't prepare the team That's all I can think of right now, but it's a good start.
