The NBC boys in the booth sure don't seem to be giving him much of a chance for success against the Ravens. Meanwhile, Heinz Ward just threw Big Ben under the bus. Essentially, calling him a pussy for not playing with a concussion.
Wow, following a nice, long completion to Heinz Ward, Dixon just tossed 33 yard touchdown to Santonio Holmes, Kid looks cool as a cucumber.
The kid has a lot of talent around him, I expect him to throw a bomb to Mike Wallace soon, to test Baltimore's young secondary.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz Thank you, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, for reminding me why I don't watch the NFL. Incredibly boring football, it's a wonder Dixon is doing as well as he is. If I were in his place I'd have fallen asleep two years ago and never woken up.
Dude, good call!! Just missed him. Perfect throw, but a pretty good play by the rookie DB to break it up in the end zone.
Considering the Steelers didn't have Troy and Aaron and went to Baltimore at night in a pressure packed game, I'd say, he was very good. Sucks how we lost, but, it's okay.
I think Dixon was pretty decent for a rookie. Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, get hurt and I don't ever mention that... A QB injury is huge though but you have to deal with the other stuff, that's part of the game. Pitt should be fine again (as far as making the post-season at least) when they get Ben, he's a pretty tough guy I expect him to be healthy.
Our defense revolves around Troy so much, I don't think you understand. Bob never plays. I'll give you Freeney.
I don't understand because he's a safety, I put a premium on defensive linemen. Now when you lose that, that is killer. For instance NYG dominated the 18-1 Pats from the interior, I'm more of a fan of that defensively.
Troy changes protections, when's in the box, he modifies blocking schemes, but then drops back and is quick enough to get back to his man or to the middle of the field. It is nice to see the front 7 learn how to not play with Troy and get to Flacco and force turnovers.
Yeah he obviously helps, that's not what I was stating. There is no "QB" on defense, a guy with the ability to impact that side of the field to that degree. Teams regularly lose skill position players, and elite offenses are dominated defensively from big guys. Harrison won the Defensive MVP last year, you have that line and those linebackers.
James Harrison was awesome and I'm happy he won that award, but Troy makes every player better. I could go on for hours about his impact, but it can and has been argued that he's the best player in football. When's he not there, the D is good, when he's there, it's an all-time defense. Last year proved it.
Ok what I don't get it when you have an OT loss to the Chiefs and you blame it on Troy being absent. Your team is too talented on both sides to make that case. That's not what it came down to, you should be able to finish them off. Sometimes teams just have bad weeks, it is natural.
