    First MMA related death?

I read the article after posting this message, it looks like it was boxing.

From the article it sounds like this was a boxing match, specifically the part about where he was losing consciousness after the 10th round.

IDK if K-1 is considered MMA or just kickboxing, but there was a death maybe a month or less ago. A training partner of Semmy Schilt (sp) collapsed after training, but from what I've read of that the doctors think it might not of been because of the training specifically.

    EDIT:http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Golden-Glory-Comments-on-Fighter-Death-21192

About a week ago, but as the article said the autopsy said it wasn't because of the training.

I just kind of wonder what kind of reaction the first death after a UFC fight will garner. I think it would definitely set the sport back a lot.

However it seems to be an accepted fact in boxing, and not nearly as big a deal.

    RIP Francisco Rodriguez

    K-1 is kickboxing.

Yeah, not MMA, but sad nonetheless.

It is inevitable that a death will happen at some point in the UFC. (I've heard of 2 in MMA in general)

I'm wondering what kind of spin is going to happen. Already when the UFC goes to countries for the first time, there is nonstop negative media. If there was a death (not like Tanner, or Eilers), I'm guessing there will be a very big reaction.

It was Boxing... Not MMA. Saw it on Fox 7 that day.

The reaction is predictable, though. Probably something the UFC is already planning for--how to deal with it.

Exactly, I'm sure they're ready with stats, etc.
