The trend of horrid defensive play continues The stereotype of slow-paced games is that of a “defensive slugfest” but someone who’s watched the Bulls play this year would see something different. This is a team that generally seems to control the pace, slow the game down, and still play some of the league’s most inefficient defense. Tonight’s opponent, the Bucks, generally has a 93.9 pace. We’ve got a 92.1 pace. Last night’s game pace was 89. Their typical ORtg is 104.6, but they managed to lay out 111.2 against us. We started out the first few games playing good D, but it’s been seriously downhill, especially up front and to a lesser extent from Derrick. Tonight I’ll point out that although Rose had a very quiet offensive stretch, however, so did Mr. 50 point game Brandon Jennings. So I thought he wasn't the problem, at least individually. I generally subscribe to the notion that defense starts with and is about 80% how your bigs play and rebound. And while Noah is generally good, he's liable to be pushed around. Miller and Taj have been generally terrible.
