If you could have ONE former Blazer back right now, without giving up anyone on the roster (ignore that we'd have to waive someone), who would it be?

    Frye?
    Sergio?

I think I might go with Rasheed.

He's still a good defender. He can spread a defense. He's a team player that doesn't require shots to help out.

Yes, he gets technical fouls. Yes, he (probably) still doesn't life (m)any weights. But he'd help this team as the backup power forward...

    What does everyone think?

    Scottie.

    Sheed is a close second.

If it has nothing at all to do with our current team and its positions and needs, I pick Sabas!

I like sheed though to help out.

ZBO at the backup 4. Get some low post play and rebounding.

I assume you are limiting this to active players ... in that case, I don't know. Sheed's penchant for a ridiculous number of low percentage 3 point shots this year doesn't really endear him to me, Sergio would probably be the same low efficiency, poor defensive player he always was in Nate's "system", Channing needs rhythm to be even marginally effective.

I can't really think of anybody out there I'd want (although I thought it was pretty remarkable that I caught Zach actually trying on D when the Grizz were in town).

Former Blazers right now, and not having to go in the past? Hmm.. he drove me crazy when he was here, but maybe Jarrett Jack.

I was thinking of a player, now, today, from the NBA. Sorry for lack of clarity.

I'm actually a bit surprised that there aren't more decent former Blazers. Rasheed and Zach and... Jack? Frye? Telfair? Sergio?

Not a lot to choose from. Good job, John Nash!

I can't think of a better fit next to Roy and Oden than Rasheed Wallace (not the Celtics version)

His defense and go-to scoring ability as a second option after Roy would be scary.

+1. The Jack I saw in Indiana last year sure wasn't the one we had here. He was always super hesitant to shoot the open jumper when he was here, which was aggravating. There, he seemed able and willing. I still wish we would have kept him.

    For this team?

Buck Williams. He brings rebounding and toughness. Two things they need big time.

To clarify, they could use a decent back for LMA. Not that they NEED the rebounding.

I'm surprised a bit, too.. but I guess Bad drafting + terrible/old FA pickups = Not so good future.

    Diogu!

Probably Zach Randolph. The team needs a productive forward badly. He'd be a back up, get whatever minutes Aldridge can't play.

Buck Williams is like 100 years old now. I don't think he'd do well in the NBA right now.

He didn't mention anything about them still being able to play, just one former blazer.

Obviously, I'm assuming him to be in his prime.

Although he'd probably have to play out of position most of the time (I'd like to use him as a PF), I'd say Jermaine as a back-up 4/5. Not that he would be happy with his diminished role.

*This could be skewed due to the LMA news.

    Gotcha.

I can't think of one I would want back on this team.
