My brother suggested a controversial one to me...Bill Lambier. He led his Detroit Sparks to championships 3 out of his 7 years as coach. He was a two time champion himself and knows how to win. He might be the tough guy this team has been desperately needing. it's off the wall and I kinda like it, props to my brother for mentioning it.

As much as I don't like ole Bill, I wouldn't mind it. He was a lot smarter of a player than people give him credit for. He pretty much knew the 90 team was 3 moves from being stopped.

erggg, to me, that's like asking Rick Fox to coach us. The guy is too much of a villian for me to accept him onto our side

I really would like a guy with experience. This team has title potential if groomed the right way, and I'd hate for this team's contending years to be part of a training campaign for a new coach. If Nate is fired during the season, Monty or another asst. will most likely be promoted to finish out the year. Then evaluate the asst the rest of the season, and possibly go after another guy in the summer.

I honestly think Patrick Ewing would be a great idea. The perfect coach for building the team around Oden.

damn, all your suggestions are worse than Nate.

It begins and ends with JVG.

Give the team to Monty and let him see what he can do under an interim basis.

And that Tom Thibwhatever guy that everyone else keeps harping about. He's supposedly the guru for their defense.

On a similar train of thought, I wonder if Tex Winter can still coach?

Half-serious. I really have no idea how he'd do as coach, but he was a smart player who seemed to do a lot of "coaching on the floor," so I think he could do a nice job. It would be very risky, though.

Mw would be a horrible idea....I am totally up for JVG or PE. Nate is killing this team, and KP needs to make some trades before the deadline or the failblazers will be a 500 team this year.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Shame that there aren't a bunch of proven, top-flight coaches out there, like in the NFL.

Imagine if there was the equivalent of Mike Shanahan, Mike Holmgren, Tony Dungy, Jon Gruden and Brian Billick out there in basketball.
