Seriously, if there is a possibility that Oden is or could be in a different "alliance" then Roy and Aldridge, who would you rather build around? Would you trade Oden for some key pieces for the "Roy's Team" or would you trade Roy and Aldridge for pieces to build around Oden?

Not saying this is true, but if it was, the fans would be just as divided. Obviously all the fans would rather watch the big three be the BIG THREE we dreamed of, but if this issue isn't resolved, I suspect a group may need to go.

My vote is to build around Oden, just because a player like him are very hard to come by. I would rather keep al three, get rid of the coach and tell Roy this is Portland's team. :D

If you had to choose you have to pick Oden and not think twice about it.

If he can stay healthy Greg is the type of Center that will help you win titles.

Chris Paul would be perfect for Oden. Brandon is a superstar but he obviously wants his touches like Kobe and Wade and is having a tough time adjusting to a low post player like Greg.

fortunately I dont think we'll have to choose... but 2 guards are a lot easier to come by than Centers.

Well think about this. If you had to trade away Roy and Aldridge, we still have Fernandez, which is a good 2 guard, that would be a perfect piece for a franchise center type. So Roy and Aldridge would give you a ton of options.

I agree. You don't get chances like this and if there is any truth to this rumor, I wouldn't doubt that Oden will bolt the first chance he gets.

That as well yes... This lineup would be scary with CP3 running with Rudy, Martell/Batum/Outlaw, and LMA. Then getting Greg the ball.. that would be a lineup of scary running Gazelles

Also, I suspect that Aldridge would actually stay if he had to choose Roy or Oden. Everyone is smart enough to know that Franchise centers give you a much better opportunity to flourish in the NBA.

KP has his hands full but I really have my doubts that he'll get anything done.

Like RLEC, he'll just ride out this storm regardless of the situation. You know, he's not a chemistry major.

What's kinda ironic is Whitless had the same praise for building a team filled with talent, then turmoil set in from the egos on the team. So your "pun" actually has a point. It's like Whitless all over again. Let's see how KP handles this. I sure hope he has more gonads to make sure he keeps the best player on his team.

The reality is that neither Roy or Aldridge has much trade value given their contracts. So if their is an issue of Roy v. Oden, at this point it would be trying to get Oden to enjoy it here and believe in the Blazer organization.

At the very least we can wrap up Oden for another three years and if he tries to get a huge contract as a restricted free agent, Allen will match.

Just remember Orlando. They cold match as well, but Shaq said "Lata I'm going to L.A. and you ain't getting nothing for me either" This happens in the NBA.

sign me up... but I'm not saying this as a turn on Roy sorta thing.. We would just be amazing with that lineup. Although Bayless would be PERFECT coming off the bench for our team. But gotta give talent to get talent.

Different situation entirely, under I believe a different CBA as well. Only way Oden leaves is if he doesn't take an extension next season, doesn't get an offer as a restricted free agent, which seems unlikely, and chooses to play a season under his QO, refusing offers from us. That's not happening, and neither player is going anywhere.

Yes a different story, but it still could happen. If you disgruntle a player enough, he will do whatever it takes to get out of town. He could ask to be traded, and if that happens, no one, other than LJ or Howard would be worth the value of Oden's franchise center type. And they wouldn't do it.

Actually what is pissing me off is that guys are bitching about shots and stuff, but this team isn't nearly as talented as teams from the past who never had problems with shots. For instance, compare the situation now with when we had Damon Stoudemire, Steve Smith, Scottie Pippen, Wallace/Grant and Sabonis.

Why would that situation work, and it not work out now? That team had way more talent, and way more players needing shots than this one. It also had a hell of a lot more toughness. That is probably why it worked. Everybody on that team wanted to win more than anything else.

    The system.

Nate works the shot clock on every possession! How fighting the shot clock is good plan is beyond me. Especially with the athletes we have on this roster.

To that point's defense was the players were much older. Most have already done their "THING" and wanted a ring more. So they were willing to sacrifice for the ultimate prize. I think many of these young players still are fighting for contracts and individual notoriety. Not saying that's good, just saying that could be the case.

That would be nice and all, but all of them have contracts. For a long time. It could just be being young and not figuring it out. But perhaps, that is why every year San Antonio just adds veterans to the team around the pieces it has, instead of young players. Your argument could be completely valid. Them and Boston both are following this pattern now.

They have pieces, add hungry vets and stir.
